truthfully, do you not find it fucking offensive as a female that muslim women are shamed into wearing cloth over their heads as men will find them too attractive and rape them, why else do they wear that shit if not for perceived 'morality'. Its nothing to do with morals, its to stop themselves being attractive as otherwise they are to be blamed for being raped
Meh I'm up I'll bite on this...
Some women may wear a headscarf for reasons of protection. Many women however choose to wear a form of dress they view as empowerment. It's ok for you not to understand it, but you can't blanket decide you know the reasons behind the choices women wear certain clothing if you don't come from that culture, or belief.
I'm not a Muslim woman. I'm no longer a religious woman. I have however been at one point in my life a religious woman who CHOSE to dress in a way I decided outwardly declared my beliefs. In a way I decided made me feel empowered. I wore a headscarf - not to hide from all these tragic men who can't help raping women, but because for ME at the time it was a symbol of who I was and wanted to be. A religious woman.
There are many women who simply become more religious and choose to adapt their clothing to express this ... nuns for instance. But nuns don't cause quite as much controversy, especially white ones.
Do you imagine the reason a nun dresses that way is she's worried Christian men will rape her or she will corrupt their poor minds if she heaven forbid exposed a little flesh?
