To wonder why would anyone buy pampers ?

The price difference between pampers and supermarket brands is astonishing why would anyone buy that ? They are all equally capable of catching pee and poo in my experience !

Sounds like it just depends on the baby which brand is best tbh. Ive tried Pampers, Aldi, lidl, tesco and hiperdino (while in lanzarote!)Tesco definitely the best for my dd.

Treaclepie19 · 31/05/2018 19:26

Because they go up to size 7 which is the biggest I've found for my little giant.

NotUmbongoUnchained · 31/05/2018 19:27

I found they were the worst. They stank and leaked all the time.

Borisdaspide · 31/05/2018 19:27

One I haven't seen mention of yet- Pampers do premature nappies too. All other nappies were huge on DS until the point that Pampers had become a habit purchase- and if you get them in one of the baby sales the supermarkets do they are hardly any more expensive.

RibenaMonsoon · 31/05/2018 19:28

Another vote for pampers. Excema ridden DS here too. It's the best I've found for that and also preventing nappy rash. We get loads of bits from Amazon subscribe and save and get them for less. Amazon change the prices a lot so have to keep switching the different pampers types as the cost changes.

Soubriquet · 31/05/2018 19:29

I got a pack of pampers a few weeks ago and it was on offer and worked out to be slightly cheaper than the supermarket Sainsbury's brand I usually use.

Omg, they were completely shit.

The felt thin, flimsy and just seem to hang off my son when they were wet.

Useless

I've gone back to using Sainsbury's own brand. They are so much better.

I used to use Aldi which were pretty good too, but I've found that Sainsbury's are thinner so not as bulky to use

coffeeforone · 31/05/2018 19:30

I've always bought pampers for DS. The other brands i've tried (Asda, Boots and Aldi) all have DS an awful rash. I think people stick to the brand they know doesn't cause a rash. For DS it's Pampers

randomsabreuse · 31/05/2018 19:32

I used a mixture of pampers and Aldi with DD. Sainsbury's worked well for a while but for pull ups I needed to switch fully to pampers because they fit better on DD's narrow hipped scrawny legged frame.

Next child will experiment to see what fits - I'm not wedded to any particular brands although Asda, Morrisons and Lidl aren't really convenient enough for regular shops.

Hopefully the reusable nappies will work for longer on child 2 - had to switch once she started walking as the massive overlap was letting leaks out!

MrsMonkeyBear · 31/05/2018 19:34

Dd1 was reacted to pampers and only wore Asda or Tesco ones.

Dd2 however seems to have reacted to all other brands except pampers.

eurochick · 31/05/2018 19:35

Because we started with them as they do a micro size for premmies and then just stayed with them as they fitted well with very few leaks.

heiheithechicken · 31/05/2018 19:36

I've tried Sainsbury's Tesco Aldi Asda and always go back to pampers. Although I don't like the baby dry, only the active fit.

greendale17 · 31/05/2018 19:37

Because I tried Aldi, Sainsburys, Boots and Asda one and they all leaked.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 31/05/2018 19:37

My dd likes Asda's best - and she had 2 in nappies for over 18 months.

ScottMumofGirls · 31/05/2018 19:38

Not every child gets on with every brand. If you get Pampers on offer ( which they frequently are) they are only 1p more a nappy them Aldi. They are thinner and have lots of gel so great for long nights / days out where you can’t change so often.
The new born ones are the best for newborn pre weaning poos.
Each to their own. Debenhams is more expensive than Primark, but some people like the choice.
Simples

RiceButt · 31/05/2018 19:38

Started out with Aldi nappies, couldn't really fault them until I switched to pull ups at 10 months. I went through quite a few pull up brands and Pampers pull ups definitely are the best for DS, perfect fit with stretchy elasticated waist and no leaks.

RiceButt · 31/05/2018 19:39

And I bulk buy Pampers when on offer.

Singlenotsingle · 31/05/2018 19:39

Tescos nappies are good

TSSDNCOP · 31/05/2018 19:40

I found them the best.

Havana7 · 31/05/2018 19:42

I’ve tried pampers, Sainsbury’s Asda and Aldi and I feel Aldi’s are fat better.....I had wooden floors when DD was first born and found all the others left a damp patch on the floor when I took it off and not when the nappy was full either! I always use sudocrem with every change so DD has never had nappy rash luckily

Toolchest13 · 31/05/2018 19:43

Didn’t leave my son with nappy rash like the other brands

steff13 · 31/05/2018 19:43

but i dont find that in pampers so thats why am asking

But other people do. Just like everything else in life, people have different experiences and opinions. It feels like general logic could have answered this one for you.

SoyDora · 31/05/2018 19:45

but i dont find that in pampers so thats why am asking

But obviously other people do! I thought the Asda ones were awful, but obviously they must suit other children. Wouldn’t have occurred to me to start a thread saying ‘why does anyone buy Asda nappies? They’re crap’.

hoopyloop2016 · 31/05/2018 19:48

Pampers caused nappy rash to all my children. Even when changed every 2 hours as babies.

BakerBear · 31/05/2018 19:51

If you think pampers are expensive then you will have a shock at what ds nappies cost... 18p a nappy!!!

We tried every single brand on the market and we were going through 3 outfits a day because of leaking nappies so i tried huggies and they have been brilliant!

However you cannot buy them in the uk so they have to be shipped over from abroad through amazon. No english writing on them apart from the word Huggies.

But it does work out expensive!

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 31/05/2018 19:52

Pampers have been absolutely crap for about the last 8 years! Active Fit used to be okay, the Baby Dry are the leakiest nappies ever. We switched away after yet more nappy rash and repeated leaks. No problems with various supermarket brands and eco ones.

Pampers are the worst on the market by a country mile.
