I don’t have a hugely sweet tooth but lately I’ve been really craving a Feast ice cream.
I’ve probably not eaten one since the 90’s btw!
The chocolate centre is about the third of the size than I remember, I wanted to feel very indulged with a naughty treat and it’s not even touched the sides!

The chocolate in the bottom of Asda's own brand Cornettos tastes exactly like Ice Magiç. Otherwise they're pretty rubbish. But the bottom is good.

Fatbird71 · 31/05/2018 02:10

Midnight mint choc ices were amazing...oh and I remember a lemon choc ice type thing that had a lemon coating rather than chocolate. Delicious but only for about a year or so in the 70s

Afonavon · 31/05/2018 06:49

I lived on cheese Crispy Pancakes fod a chunk of my childhood. They are now a semicircle of sadness.

I did, however have shit taste as a child. I loved Noodle Doodles more than anything in the world, and now find tinned spaghetti vile.

We weren’t allowed fancy lollies/ice creams so only had orange or lemonade lollies from the van.

MyGuideJools · 31/05/2018 08:24

Magnums have definitely shrunk! I havnt had one for a couple of years as they used to be too big but now I could eat 2 straight offGrin
gillybeanz those were 'old English' spangles, mint, butterscotch, dark flavours.

Our ice cream of choice from the ice cream van as kids was "Lolly Gobble Choc Bomb" it was similar to a nobbly bobbly but had solid chocolate all through the middle.
And Zoom lollies came in 3 different sections with a banana flavoured top bit you could eat off first.
maddisonavenue I remember those! we were only allowed them occasionally as they were expensive!

furandchandeliers · 31/05/2018 08:30

Yabu for using the words indulged, and naughty treat Grin

EastMidsMummy · 31/05/2018 08:38

There's an ice cream I remember from the 70s which no one else seems to recall. We used to get them from the ice cream man and they were a bit more expensive so were just an occasional treat and we had to share. They were packaged like a small box of chocolates filled with bite-sized cubes of ice cream covered in chocolate, they came in mint or orange flavours.

Wall's Dark Secrets

EastMidsMummy · 31/05/2018 08:39

We weren't allowed a Lolly Gobble Choc Bomb because they were so expensive (8p).

MrsGrindah · 31/05/2018 08:48

My Dad “ invented” his own version of Ice Magic....single cream poured over ice cream. Left to go hard ( didn’t take long)....then you cracked through it with your spoon. Heavenly.

In other news, we are all overweight.....

ilovepixie · 31/05/2018 08:53

I used to love love love the dried vesta curry. I though they were the hight of sophistication as a child. Was so excited when I saw them in B&M a couple of years ago. Utterly vile now.

Branleuse · 31/05/2018 08:57

caramacs are all powdery these days

Butterscotch angel delight - im sure it wasnt always shit

Thank god they dont do instant chocolate pudding anymore

QueenOfMyWorld · 31/05/2018 09:24

Anyone who loves Caramac should be eating mcvities Gold bars.Yum!!

StayAChild · 31/05/2018 09:25

Funny, because I have been craving a Walls Feast since I saw them advertised at an ice cream stall in Dorset a few weeks ago. I suddenly remembered yesterday doing my Morrisons online, but they don't have them. Maybe they do in the shop? I always remember the ice cream being icy wasn't it?

Caramacs were so lovely years ago, but I rarely bought them with my pocket money because they were gone in a flash, but 10p of fruit salads and black jacks lasted hours. Oh and the mint ones, Peppermint mojos?
Aren't Gold bars caramac flavour?

Jubblys gave me asthma, must have been the additives? Didn't stop me getting them though. Often they would fall out of the carton if you pushed it up too far, but a quick wipe of the grit off it and it was soon popped back in, after drinking the juice from the carton.

StayAChild · 31/05/2018 09:26

X post with QueenOfMyWorld re Gold bars. Smile

QueenOfMyWorld · 31/05/2018 09:27

StayAChild I think we posted at same time yes gold are Caramac 😊

ThePlanetGoesOnBeingRound3 · 31/05/2018 09:48

@gillybeanz
Olde English Spangles. THE best.
You could get Olde English fruit gums too. You had to suck them until they were transparent, impossible to chew.

FoofFighter · 31/05/2018 09:59

I had a feast last week, disgusting Sad

Had a Fab this week, just as I remember it albeit a little small Smile

I was fond of Juicy Lucys as a child, nobody seems to remember those though on these threads

poddige · 31/05/2018 10:01

One or two a year?! Calm down @AnneLovesGilbert !

poddige · 31/05/2018 10:02

Nobbly Bobbly are still delicious.

MyGuideJools · 31/05/2018 10:32

With regards to spangles, old english and otherwise . My dentist always gave us a spangle as kids after an appointment Confused wtf?!

AnneLovesGilbert · 31/05/2018 10:48

@poddige Grin

I'm mad, me.

FriendlyOcelot · 31/05/2018 10:50

Agree that Caramac buttons are better; they still have a slightly creamy and crumbly texture which the bars do not anymore.

NachoFries · 31/05/2018 10:55

@MipMipMip I remember the sun lollies Smile

I can’t remember the name of the ice lolly. I think it was called Soleil? It was yellow, I think 🤔 Does anyone remember? A bit like this red ice lolly but was yellow...looked a lot like the ice lolly on the far right but I was pretty sure it was like a sunshine yellow or it could have been orange Blush.

I've become addicted to Twisters lately but they're absolutely tiny. I only seem to be able to get them in an 8 pack of minis. Maybe that's how they are now. I seem to remember them being massive when I was little but it could just be that I was smaller! They're still delicious though.

I miss Solero Shots. The lemon/lime flavour. They were my favourite thing from the corner shop in the 90s.

MrsPreston11 · 31/05/2018 11:19

I ate a potato smile recently. Blergh. Disappointment.

MrsPreston11 · 31/05/2018 11:20

Soleil are still around! Not bad calories either!
