What's to like about them? They look like chocolate but don't taste like chocolate, they are dry, rubbish for dunking. I don't get it.

made from soil and Vaseline Grin Grin Grin

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 30/05/2018 20:29

Cinnamon bun Oreos? Why not just eat a cinnamon bun and cut out the middle man?

A triumph of American marketing Agree
Soil and vaseline Agree Grin

The comments about what it could possibly contain as it's vegan are pretty funny, especially as the ingredients are fairly similar to bourbons, which are also typically vegan Shock Some brands occasionally include milk powder but most store brands don't.

Oreos are just sugar, wheat flour, canola/palm oil, cocoa, corn flour, bicarb, high fructose corn syrup, salt, vanillin and soy lecithin which is a kind of fat extracted from soy. Very unhealthy! But hardly ground breaking, most shop biscuits are a variation of that.

My least favourite biscuit is ginger nuts by far! Much too dry for me.

UnsalariedPost · 30/05/2018 20:30

The middle stuff is ok but you get that in the far superior custard creams

They're foul as well. I'm cracking on in years, and I remember as a child when my mother had been out shopping, all she ever brought back in the way of biscuits was custard creams. As I remember, the biscuit has a little diamond on it with "CFC" in the middle of said diamond. I remember saying to my brother (10 years older than me)
"What does CFC stand for?"

"Custard Fucking Creams" he said.

redexpat · 30/05/2018 20:30

Yabu. They are divine. Jaffacakes however are disgusting.

user1471451866 · 30/05/2018 20:30

Salted caramel thin oreos?? Francis Crawford i love salted caramel and I love oreos! Where do you buy them? I've never seen them.
Also, oreo cheesecake - crush them for the base and chop them up to put in the topping.

FootFlapperage · 30/05/2018 20:32

Try the icecream 😍

Clandestino · 30/05/2018 20:33

They're disgusting. Love chocolate, love biscuits, love ice cream and cakes but pit me in a room with any of that made with Oreo and it's 100% safe.

UnsalariedPost · 30/05/2018 20:33

"My least favourite biscuit is ginger nuts by far! Much too dry for me"

Ginger nuts are food of the Gods!!

I'll have yours then.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 30/05/2018 20:34

Yanbu

Even if I am craving something sweet I will not bother with these impersonator biscuits

yawning801 · 30/05/2018 20:34

I neither like or dislike them. I mean, I like them, but they are salty, and quite bitter, and the cream is so clingy to the tongue... I do make an amazing cheesecake out of them if that helps?

MrMeSeeks · 30/05/2018 20:36

Love them, especially the thin ones, or the birthday cakes ones Grin

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 30/05/2018 20:37

Custard Fucking Creams Grin

I have a similar aversion to Bourbons as that's all we had in the tin growing up.

spontaneousgiventime · 30/05/2018 20:37

YADNBU - horrid things.

Fintress · 30/05/2018 20:38

Oreo dairy milk... lush!!!

Eeeee noooo, I thought it was horrible but then again I ate so much I felt ill. Put me right off.

Dauphinois · 30/05/2018 20:39

We love them in our house. For dairy and egg allergic Dd, they're junk food heaven

You're welcome to them, enjoy! My mum used to buy them for herself as she knew non of us kids would touch them.

I can understand not liking Oreos but what kind of twisted madman doesn't like a bourbon?! That is God level

BlancheM · 30/05/2018 20:42

Yanbu! Dry and taste of nowt

waxy1 · 30/05/2018 20:42

It’s a feed of sugar, with bonus glucose syrup or some such.

For those who like that sort of thing, that is the sort of thing that they like.

takeoffyourpantsandjacket · 30/05/2018 20:42

Salty??? I'm so confused

LighthouseSouth · 30/05/2018 20:44

OMD I love Oreos and I don't like salt in things. I will check the content next time I buy a pack. Have they changed them? Haven't had any for months.
