What is your favourite cake?

what is your all time favourite cake? Mine is a Victoria sponge (always with whipped cream, never buttercream) or a Black Forest Gateaux.

I have just discovered vanilla sour cream cake - it’s absolutely gorgeous. Fantastic texture and a lovely smooth flavour.

Bugger. I want some cake now 😂

Carrot cake and battenburg I love marzipan

\Heavy rich fruit cake with plenty of booze in it ( think home made Christmas cake )
Jamaican ginger cake with a shot of rum poured over it .
Brownies and a glass of desert wine

hmm i have noticed a theme going on here . is a good job i tend to prefer savoury snacks , now excuse me while i find some thing to nibble . . . . . . . .

Chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream but has to be exceptionally chhocolatey!! I’m a chocoholic so nothing beats this!

If there is no chocolate cake I will settle for Victoria sponge cake x

Victoria sponge except - heresy, I make it with jam, cream AND fresh strawberries in the middle...

Dark chocolate cake with salted caramel buttercream. Three layers. I'm having a 5 tier one of these when I get married at the end of the year.

Malibu and lime cake sounds amazing.

Not really a cake person, but Victoria sponge, with some of the flour replaced with wholemeal and dark muscovado sugar replacing some/all of the caster sugar is delicious. Made with butter of course, and filled with jam and cream.

Ginger cake from the recipe on the back of packets of Whitworth's Crystallised GInger. Especially when decorated with a thin icing, extra chunks of ginger and 'gold' sugar crystals.

Very popular among our local lifeboat crew when I take one for them on training nights!

Chocolate fudge cake

While I do make very nice cakes from scratch, my all time favourite is packet chocolate cake with cream set in the fridge overnight, chocolate icing and 100s &100s. I’m always disappointed with plain chocolate cakes from a cafe /shop. However, I will make an exception for Black Forrest cake which is my other favourite and will happily buy.

With a name like mine I really should try Tottenham cake ColourfulOrangex, but they don’t sell it where I live.
