To call my Sister a thieving cow

My sister who is 65 and should know better is staying for a couple of days, and came this morning tonight she asked if she could have a shower before BGT, well of course there was no problem, my shower is her shower, I got out fresh towels showed her how the new shower works and gave her a choice of Radox shower creams we have about 4 fragrances and left her to it.

Went to to the bathroom door to tell her BGT was about to start, heard her tuneless singing and the unmissable smell of my FENJAL body mousse, well I didn't say she couldn't use it but it was in the bathroom cabinet not on the side of the bath so she would have had to open the cabinet to find it, sitting here faintly fuming not said anything to her, DH didn't help by saying 'oh you smell nice'

I only use it for special occasions myself and it looks like she has used half the bloody can.

Not happy at all

I did wonder Sneaky I had more of a blob than a ribbon. Typical DS. Grin

I need to practice my waft clearly DayDream. It's not working.

TheDayDreamBeliever · 31/05/2018 12:35

Ooh Johnson's, how it made DC's hair so fluffy. I daren't sniff anything liquid again to reminisce.

Ooh tar soap, do they still have that. Hmm Pears soap or tar soap.

I know they do Charlie body sprays.

Trying to think what we got Gran every Christmas, if they still do it, it was a perfume cream, that you got out on a tiny spatula.

Apparently there's a soap at Boots at £5 a block with charcoal, shea butter & tea tree that eats away acne.

SneakyGremlins · 31/05/2018 12:37

DayDream it's one of those tiny bottles you use for travelling.

have been sniffing it for days waiting to use it

Charm23 · 31/05/2018 12:45

I think to call her a thief is being very unseasonable.
I was expecting you to say she took some of your jewellery or something.
It's only a cheap bath product and she's your sister! Surely that's fine?
Having said this, I can understand you may not like her snooping through your cupboards but still...
If this is the only problem you have today, you're doing alright!

TheDayDreamBeliever · 31/05/2018 13:04

Gremlins - I'm glad it's not just me.

I expect a CF competition now. My best friend came on her period at mine, I keep Morrison's Basics pads for such emergencies, but the CF used one of my Tampax Pearl. ShockGrin
She said she was prone to flooding, plus wearing beige trousers she was scared of leaking, why not just use 2. It's not my fault she has PCOS & isn't prepared. (Hypothetical situation those supporting OP would possibly be like this.)

Yuk remember the tissue days at school, when you were too mortified to say a word.

I bet they fought over the sanitary belt too, come to think of it.

DD came home with a goodie bag that included scented towels. I really miss those days now and all the innovations. Towels that match your body shape. I honestly thought the cheap ones you can still get were a marvel.

budinbloom · 31/05/2018 13:29

It's cheeky to rummage through bathroom cabinets and not to use products which are clearly put out for anyone to use. I wouldn't use shower gels/shampoos in the cupboards if there were shower gels/shampoos in prominent display in the shower!

I have L'Occitane & Molten Brown only in my bathroom ensuite. I tend to request them for birthday/Christmas so they are definitely luxuries in my eyes and not for all and sundry. Even DH doesn't use them (he buys them so he knows that they are pricey! All other bathrooms have cheaper products - Radox/own brand rather than Fenjal though. Can you imagine having a full bottle of Neal's Yard Foam Bath and finding out that a visitor had tipped half the bottle in for one bath? (small bottles so easily done if you weren't aware that you should use a lot less!)

TheDayDreamBeliever · 31/05/2018 13:40

Maybe it's a good idea to have a drawer in your bedroom or a box in your wardrobe that had luxurious items in. As another argument could be your DC see whatever stuff and not knowing use a hefty amount. Especially DD's who like to copy their Mums.

When I've stayed at a friends, they had a gift bag full of goodies for me to use, which I thought was really nice. I was staying at theirs as I'd had a hard time.

lemonsunshinecake · 31/05/2018 14:18

It's the BEST shower mousse ever but I'd still let my sister use it

baxterboi · 31/05/2018 14:41

Is there a masssive age difference and you're only 20 OP?

TheDayDreamBeliever · 31/05/2018 14:59

A 45 year age gap, how would that be possible?

Child at 13 (65 year old)
Child at 58 (20 year old)

I guess it's feasible, but very unlikely.

TheDayDreamBeliever · 31/05/2018 15:11

Gosh I remember a girl at school having a baby and just realised she could be a Great Nan at my age.

snop · 31/05/2018 15:35

This thread has made me laugh so much

SandAndSea · 31/05/2018 15:41

OP, I think you should buy your sister a bottle of her very own for Christmas. Then, when you go to stay with her, you can use it!! Grin

InspMorse · 31/05/2018 16:00

it sounds like it’s a douche - that was my first thought, sounds like a feminine hygiene type wash for ya foof

Glad I'm not the only one who thought this! 😂

GoldenMcOldie · 01/06/2018 12:34

FENJAIL indeed GrinGrinWinkGrinGrin

Had to nip out to the post office today so popped in the Boots next door and picked up a tube of the Fenjal shower cream. I've already had a shower since getting back and ... yeah.

I smell like I've showered in Harpic toilet cleaner! It definitely does linger though...(!)

L'aimant! My mum uses it still, it smells like my childhood, it's wonderful!

AbsolutelyBeginning · 05/06/2018 17:20

Sales of Fenjal going through the roof..Grin...I like the scent.

Sparklingbrook · 05/06/2018 17:32

I still think it smells of Refresher sweets. DH still hasn't noticed.
