To call my Sister a thieving cow

My sister who is 65 and should know better is staying for a couple of days, and came this morning tonight she asked if she could have a shower before BGT, well of course there was no problem, my shower is her shower, I got out fresh towels showed her how the new shower works and gave her a choice of Radox shower creams we have about 4 fragrances and left her to it.

Went to to the bathroom door to tell her BGT was about to start, heard her tuneless singing and the unmissable smell of my FENJAL body mousse, well I didn't say she couldn't use it but it was in the bathroom cabinet not on the side of the bath so she would have had to open the cabinet to find it, sitting here faintly fuming not said anything to her, DH didn't help by saying 'oh you smell nice'

I only use it for special occasions myself and it looks like she has used half the bloody can.

Not happy at all

I wish I had your life if this is the sort of stuff you worry about

You’ve no idea what could be going on in a persons life that they cope with admirably day in and day out because very often it’s what appears as something of no consequence to others that puts the tin hat on a day.

TeisanLap · 29/05/2018 05:44

Fenjal?! Really? Just why.

It was Fenjal long before people started referring to a Fanjo

Monty27 · 29/05/2018 05:52

Don't even talk to me about a partner using my Tommy Hilfiger shower wash?
What a """"""" liberty! Not just because of the shower wash tbf

Shower gel in a can? Don't think I've ever seen that...

Lilacwine1 · 29/05/2018 06:27

I'm off to buy some Fenjal body mousse, sounds as though it's got staying power.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 29/05/2018 06:57

It's Fengal, it smells vile. Let her use it up and you can buy something else!

DearPrudence · 29/05/2018 07:30

Who has five different shower gels?

cakedup · 29/05/2018 08:41

I was quite enjoying this thread until BrilliantMistake 's sinister prediction: There will come a time when smelling nice might be a rarity!

Do you know something we don't? I mean I get that when the ice caps melt and we have hailstones the size of footballs then smelling of Fenjal will the last thing on my mind, but can you be more specific?

EleanorHooverbelt · 29/05/2018 08:43

Wouldn't bother me at all. Maybe Radox makes her skin itch or something. I am sure she is generous to you in other ways?

BitOutOfPractice · 29/05/2018 08:48

Fengel was considered the height of decadent luxury in this house in about 1982. I think you might need to rethink your shower gel preferences op and get with the times.

SandAndSea · 29/05/2018 09:26

Come back, OP!!

cakedup · 29/05/2018 09:31

I wonder if things have progressed? Maybe the sister was offered 5 different flavours of jam for her toast this morning but when op's back was turned, went rooting through her cupboards and used a luxury brand marmalade instead. Then to make matters worse, op's dh said "That looks like a tasty bit of toast."

Fenjal isn’t expensive

To you, maybe. But please be aware some of us pay 33p for shower gel in Lidl so £5.40 is a fortune.

Washing up liquid is even cheaper Biscuit

bsbabas · 29/05/2018 10:08

If anyone touched my clinque or my jewelry I'd go bananas but cheap shower gel is not a problem now you know what to get her for christmas

paceyswife · 29/05/2018 10:13

Crying with laughter. This can't be real.

It's a fiver Confused

heateallthebuns · 29/05/2018 10:15

Where's op? I want an update.

Ginorchoc · 29/05/2018 10:20

I like the smell! It is a ‘classic’ though.

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 29/05/2018 10:22

ohreally the op isnt talking about the difference between 33p aldi shower gel and fenjel its the difference between radox and fenjel which is about a quid at most.
If it was i offered her my useal value/own brand shower gel and fenjel the reaction might havr been different . She also said she offered her sister a choice of radox shower gels so observously well able to afford the type of price range we're talking about.

As has been mentioned fenjel takes me back to late80s/early 90s christmas stockings.

But seriously two 60 sonethings arguing over shower gel and calling your sister theiving cow. Did you divide your age by 10. And your actally 6. Seriously its school playground behaviour

redcarbluecar · 29/05/2018 10:27

Dreadful business. Call the police and then go NC. Leave your husband as well. ‘You smell nice’ indeed!!!!

ohreallyohreallyoh · 29/05/2018 10:28

Washing up liquid is even cheaper

Don’t let other people’s budgeting and the need to not spend more than is necessary get in the way of having a laugh, eh?

diddl · 29/05/2018 10:30

I do think that if stuff has been put out for you then it's rude to go rooting in cupboards for something else.

liz70 · 29/05/2018 10:35

Should I feel deprived that I have never in my life experienced the luxury that is Fenjal shower gel?

3luckystars · 29/05/2018 10:36

I think the real problem is your husband complimenting her. You need some counseling and buy him a bottle of MickeyJal for himself.
