Always pads have made me bleed

I’m itching, swollen and bleeding. I stopped using the perfumed shits as soon as I saw I was shedding skin. My bits feel paper thin and the itching won’t stop unless I smother on vagisil. Why the fuck would they perfume pads?!!!

Ummm this is interesting.... hope not TMI but I have had unbearable itch for a while... it gets worse when on and using pads but is still there when not on.... been a bit to embarrassed to see a GP. Does anyone else get the itch between cycles? As now thinking it could be the pads?

@distantstars do check with your GP to make sure it is not lichen sclerosis, which if left unchecked can (rarely, but there is a risk) develop into vulval cancer.

Buy some reusable cloth pads and some period pants for night time. You'll be so much more comfortable, promise.

I thought this was just me. Thank God for some of the tips on here!

@GothMummy I just googled that I have no other symptoms apart from the itch! I know I should go GP though x

@distantstars i reacted to something on holiday years ago and then anything scented/with SLS irritated me - try switching to unscented sanitary products/loo roll/shower stuff and see how you get on. that's assuming external rather than internal itching!

distantstars · 28/05/2018 20:52

@Sturmundcalm yes def external!

both my DDs have switched to mooncups and rave about how wonderful they are. It saves a fortune as you only buy one for life

I think you're meant to replace them about once a decade - also, you might need a different size after childbirth or other changes. But essentially, yes.
