Given that Labour can't even decide what a woman is, or follow their own bloody policies. Perhaps Maria Miller MP should change to their side..., why should anyone give a thought to 52% of the population after all?

For those who missed it, David Lewis did this to make a point;

blogs.spectator.co.uk/2018/05/meet-the-man-standing-to-be-a-labour-party-womens-officer/

Personally I'm of the opinion that a woman is an adult person of the female sex, but then I'm not a "woke" Brocialist tosser.

Things have now moved on to this, as Labour was VERY cross with him, as he clearly wasn't being Trans enough Confused. After all, they already have a male-born woman's officer (no surgical changes/hormones etc) who has come out as a lesbian - that's sincerity for you!

Dear Jezza, I wouldn't trust you and your pals to run the school fete.

It is wonderful to not care what men think of you isn’t it. Bloody wonderful.

Bowlofbabelfish · 24/05/2018 15:15

I am the kind of traditional woman that makes feminists weep. Good career but SAHM.

Eh? You know feminists don’t care if any woman freely is a sahm, or works in a chippy, or is CEO of The Universe? There’s no one right way. You do you. Do what fits your family life, like we all do.

We feminists tend to be critical about the institution structures that mean there aren’t equal numbers of stay at home dads but really you do what’s best for your family. No feminists are weeping over that I assure you.

What’s a traditional woman?

vicviking · 24/05/2018 15:16

Most crime is not committed by black people. That is just racist bullshit.

ReliefOfChaos · 24/05/2018 15:16

"And the common sense is...? "

I would have said self-ID goes ahead (it's really just streamlining a bureaucratic process), exemptions from the 2010 act are kept (legal to have cis-women only spaces for a purpose) and we have to accept that AWS also includes trans people (best) or do away with them entirely (they probably haven't served their Chesterton fence purpose yet).

TwittleBee · 24/05/2018 15:21

Why do women have to have a pre-fix "cis" ? Why cant transpeople just keep their pre-fix rather than force one onto us?

Truscum · 24/05/2018 15:22

Isn’t it strange how some (first time posters usually) fire off random points or insults instead of actually coming back with any actual conversation re: any discussion that is going on.

It’s also so strange how they are all traditional women, but their posting and argument style is like that of a fifteen year old boy, attempting to sound grown up but whose facade inevitably cracks when losing an argument. Hence the resort to random grammar calling out and insults.

Yep.

You genuinely get more and more bizarre every time you post hoistTheSales.

If arguments become more forceful then I'm probably going to beat you there too

So, as a younger man/woman, what do you think you can bring to the debate that I can't?

What does that actually mean?

Do you mean you could beat me up? Or are you suggesting that if an argument decends into verbal assault you would do better at it than me (which actually I am sure you would)

It definitely didn’t mean a ‘robust’ argument, because let’s face it, you’ve hardly displayed an aptitude for debate on this thread.

You’ve raised points but when others have put forward their reasoning and point of view you...don’t. You just move on to the next random point or insult.

This is hardly a new phenomenon on here sadly for you, so people can see right through it. It certainly has helped to ‘peak’ lurkers in the past, which is why I personally don’t mind it (frustrating as hell for those trying to make serious points though)

You're more male than I am

Undoubtedly.

But thanks for assuming I’m young, it’s been a while since that has happened Grin

busyboysmum · 24/05/2018 16:15

Yes agreed. Very strange what's going on here ATM. Feels like mumsnet is under attack.

Ohmydayslove · 24/05/2018 16:17

i am going to beat you there too

Spoken just like a testosterone fuelled bully.

Caribou58 · 24/05/2018 16:18

I've never found the 'I'm not worried about the prospect of sexual assault so no-one else should be' argument especially persuasive.

Ohmydayslove · 24/05/2018 16:19

Women are under attack that’s the problem. We are daring to object to men telling us yet again to put up and shut up except this time it’s men in dresses.

Violent and abusive. Well who would have thought it aye.

Ohmydayslove · 24/05/2018 16:20

No no cis women here just women thanks.

Ohmydayslove · 24/05/2018 16:23

Lots of aggressive men on mumsnet today.

SuitedandBooted · 24/05/2018 16:27

"Women are under attack that’s the problem. We are daring to object to men telling us yet again to put up and shut up except this time it’s men in dresses"

  • and not necessarily IN dresses.

Self ID requires no particular changes in body or clothes. It's what in your head that counts, apparently Hmm

Fucking hell!! The fucking bastard arrogance of him how fucking dare he Angry

Caribou58 · 24/05/2018 16:37

Passing a law that means any man can rock up in the women's changing room at the gym, looking like old Danielle above, and no woman can ever challenge him.

The ones wanting to get in there for dark reasons don't need to self-id at all.

Bowlofbabelfish · 24/05/2018 16:39

your problem isn't with me, it's with science and that's much trickier to argue against.

Oh goodie. Now then. Tell me all about this science.

Ohmydayslove · 24/05/2018 16:46

Oh yes here comes the science bit

Oh please explain to us silly women the facts.

Is the earth flat? Will the world implode in 3 days if all the bees dissapear? Will you become a woman because you think you are?

Please please tell us. You know how fluffy and silly we are

Truscum · 24/05/2018 16:48

I think it probably has something to do with that planet, Niburu or something.

I bet that’s why men aren’t a threat to women anymore, pedophiles have repented and woman is no more than a feeing now.

CertainHalfDesertedStreets · 24/05/2018 16:49

Some Men joined the priesthood solely because there were opportunities to abuse."

Which ones, or are you guessing / making things up?

The research shows that paedophiles understand their own proclivities and their intention to act on those proclivities during their late teens. So if they are then going on to careers which bring them into contact with children then clearly that is going to be part of the decision making process. I can't see how that's in any way contentious to be honest. Confused

Debate here from TRAs at the moment seems to consist of picking a random sentence and shouting 'Prove it! I'm going to need a randomised controlled peer reviewed study.' Which is fine if people are saying stuff which is controversial but saying that people who abuse children look for opportunities and work which gets them into positions of power over children seems pretty fucking obvious to me.

I'm suspicious of the motives of anyone who when you say, 'let's do this to safeguard children' says, 'no, let's find reasons not to.'

And if the grammar police are out for commas and apostrophes they need to watch that their space bar isn't showing its pants in public...

Bowlofbabelfish · 24/05/2018 16:55

I want to hear about the science

CertainHalfDesertedStreets · 24/05/2018 16:57

I want to hear about thescience

Yeah. And I want to watch Grin

TwittleBee · 24/05/2018 16:58

(I'm sure the rest of us lurkers are also keenly waiting on the science too!)
