Given that Labour can't even decide what a woman is, or follow their own bloody policies. Perhaps Maria Miller MP should change to their side..., why should anyone give a thought to 52% of the population after all?

For those who missed it, David Lewis did this to make a point;

blogs.spectator.co.uk/2018/05/meet-the-man-standing-to-be-a-labour-party-womens-officer/

Personally I'm of the opinion that a woman is an adult person of the female sex, but then I'm not a "woke" Brocialist tosser.

Things have now moved on to this, as Labour was VERY cross with him, as he clearly wasn't being Trans enough Confused. After all, they already have a male-born woman's officer (no surgical changes/hormones etc) who has come out as a lesbian - that's sincerity for you!

Dear Jezza, I wouldn't trust you and your pals to run the school fete.

This is not just about the Labour Party

The tories started it

All major parties have no problem with the idea that transwomen are women

Many wrongs don't make a right, however. They all need to wake up to themselves

I can't bring myself to vote labour either now Sad I cant even turn to the Greens anymore either. Is there a party that represents women anymore?

some recent poll evidence ( last week) shows that working class voters C2/D/E are more likely to vote tory than labour for the first time in a very long time
at 43/40% if Labour can not get the working class to support them they are in a bad way!!

So this man, David Lewis, wanted to help women by highlighting the flaws in the transgender ideology? Flaws that allow a shortlist for women, to increase their representation, to actually be made up entirely of biological men.

Not just biological men, but trans identifying men who feel that issues connected to women should be minimised, as they are exclusionary (ie don't apply to them).

But David Lewis is not allowed to run, because despite wanting to help women, he isn't a transvestite or a man with gender dysphoria, or a part-time cross dresser like Philip Bunce (who has won awards designed for women).

Got it.

Meanwhile, actual women who refuse to identify as women, are not allowed to run.

And the cherry on the top is it the Labour Party don't give a shit how many people realise the insanity of this. They are wearing their misogyny like a badge.

What we need is a fool-proof system to test how "sincere" Trans Identifying men are....

Is one day enough, or two? If so, do they have to wear dresses on their "woman" days, or will silky knickers and nail varnish with a 3-piece business suit suffice?

I'm sure it will be very easy to do....I have a Degree in design!

Wanders off to ponder business opportunity.....

I will not vote Labour again. Thank you for bringing this to my attention, some people want this hidden. Women need to stick together, our rights our dwindling every day, if you have a daughter you need to fight to keep the rights we have or their future is very bleak. Why aren't more women Labour MPs standing up against this?

Report
SuitedandBooted · 23/05/2018 17:47

Happy to bring it to your attention Gin. I think you can put the lack of Labour MPs support down to fear, basically, and an unwillingness to go against the party line.

The utter misogynistic, regressive shambles that is Self-ID is better explained here:

“I’ve never voted tory, but I will if they commit to opposing self ID and to retaining sex based exemptions in the equality act. While I’m opposed to their economic policies I genuinely feel this is a generational issue and it’s important enough to vote strategically on”

Wow 😮

Are we really worried about gender carpetbagging onto all women shortlists? When did being a woman in the Labour Party become such an advantage?

Report
Caribou58 · 23/05/2018 18:42

I'd never vote Tory, not ever. But I left Labour on this issue and I will not vote for them until they disavow this insanity. I cannot vote for any party who support this genuine threat to women.

I'm staring not voting - for the first time ever - right in the face.

NB Shon Faye's 'definition' is total bullcrap.

But I (and those family members) have said that once women’s rights and ability to seperate themselves physically and legally from men is gone...it would be a hell of a fight and a few lifetimes to get it back.

You're so right.

This goes way, way beyond worrying about just AWSL

Imo, labour or other non right-wing parties should bribe a couple more of the big media outlets (daily mail, sun, telegraph, times etc) to support them (shouldn't be difficult) and it would be a more level playing field.

I will vote Labour for the first time....Universal Credit is a travesty against women, as are most Tory policies such as the rape clause...
As for the trans thing...I don't see it as a threat to my identity ad a woman little more than I see anything with a penis a threat to my feminine identity. I can't get worked up about of I'm afraid.

Also, just my opinion but self-id is not the only big thing to base your vote on.

This has nothing to do with a threat to feminine identity. Nobody can control somebody else's identity.

The problem is the removal of protections, rights and services based on sex because there is no longer any clear definition of the word 'woman'.

Universal Credit is a travesty against women, as are most Tory policies such as the rape clause

Travesty against who? Who is being raped? You can't differentiate a group that can't be defined.

I will never, ever, ever, vote Tory. But right now I could not vote Labour either.

If any party could get us out of the clusterfuck that is Brexit, I'd vote for them, even though GRA is a huge concern for me, I'd place Brexit above it, because there's more hope that GRA might be fixed or mediated, and Brexit, once through, probably never can.
