Ah, I stand corrected

Oddish · 23/05/2018 18:47

Yep they were definitely at the end of her stories and now gone. I wonder if that was a personal decision or advised, and why.

bernardswatch · 23/05/2018 18:53

“It is important to consider who and what you associate with on social media. For example, acknowledging someone else’s post can imply that you endorse or support their point of view. You should consider the possibility of other people mentioning you in inappropriate posts. If you have used social media for a number of years, it is important to consider, in relation to the Code, what you have posted online in the past.”

This is from the official NMC guidelines for social media use (not because I’m being inflammatory but because they’re a really good grounding for anyone). I think it’s all too easy to forget that it’s not just what you post on your own feeds. People can see your “likes” on Twitter (I know I certainly “like” some dubious comedy posts which I should probably address). The Insta activity tab clearly shows the comments and likes people you follow are leaving even if you don’t follow the accounts they’re engaging with.

I remember once upon a time when everyone’s Twitter bio said “RTs do not equal endorsement”. Maybe a similar strapline needs to become commonplace on Insta. (As long as it was “likes don’t mean agreement” as opposed to “nasty DMs and pile-ons aren’t bullying”).

I felt there was a real edge to that Telegraph piece, a hint of spite in the writing however poor the Mrs Moody typo might have been.

SugarBunker · 23/05/2018 18:58

Is UGG the one who’s s dead ringer for a young Tamara Beckwith?

greygray · 23/05/2018 19:00

I think it was hurriedly written as she wanted to be the first to report it

SugarBunker · 23/05/2018 19:01

Not she. Two shes.

AdidasGirl · 23/05/2018 19:02

I'm glad she has deleted them.
I posted about her in I think it was the second thread that was made about Instamums when someone asked about other accounts we follow.
I've followed her for quite a while though when she didn't have the followers she does now. I found her funny and she reminded me of people I once knew in a previous life.
I also mentioned the rainbow one as I love her wedding video and I am absolutely fascinated by her beautiful house and all the taxidermy she has in it.
It must be amazing for her lovely boys to grow up in such a gorgeous place.
Not to mention the alpacas.
I had unfollowed the deleted one after she went in on one of my friends but she kept popping up in the 'suggestions for you to follow'
I found her Hawking for a freebie asking for advice on which large washing machine and tumble dryer to buy posts awful.

Oddish · 23/05/2018 19:04

That’s the one sugar!

SugarBunker · 23/05/2018 19:06

Oddish 👍🏻

HolyMountain it is a nasty piece, hastily written isn't it.

boomboom12 · 23/05/2018 19:13

I’m confused as to why influencers have even engaged in spats etc, do they not think it can come back & haunt them? We are not talking about tweens, surely everyone, influencer or not knows you have to be so careful what you put out on social media.

AdidasGirl · 23/05/2018 19:13

Do we think there will be a follow up piece or an appearance on This Morning as damage control?

sparklefluff · 23/05/2018 19:15

I do wonder how you come back after such a public exit.

Kudos to her if (when) she does, and hopefully she will do it in the right way.

SugarBunker · 23/05/2018 19:15

What’s a shame is the spin it puts on events to put blame on MN
The trigger was on IG not here
All to do with IG doings

SugarBunker · 23/05/2018 19:17

Also not to do with adverts

Ok technically it was but ad was Kim’s not Clem’s

PunsandNeedles · 23/05/2018 19:18

Nobody's mentioned what the T article said about fod. He didn't get off lightly - him saying he only gets one to one time with kids in his social experiment sponsored car. Nasty little kicker from the journos.

SugarBunker · 23/05/2018 19:21

I missed that as skimread
was too busy trying to celeb spot MN usernames

TurquoiseDress · 23/05/2018 19:21

Is it worth signing up with the Telegraph just so I can access the article?

Can't be arsed with more email spam Grin

PunsandNeedles · 23/05/2018 19:21

Adidas no don't think so. They are not famous. Nobody cares. I feel sorry for mod.

HolyMountain · 23/05/2018 19:22

Puny I'm no fan of MoD by the way, the way she has conducted herself on IG recently is appalling considering she said she's never act that way
[ said back by anyalovesrose on a previous thread, I don't remember which one]

The Telegraph article was spiteful.

Social Media is all encompassing so don't bite the hand that feeds could be applied here.

PunsandNeedles · 23/05/2018 19:22

Turquoise the dm and sun paraphrase the T article.

TurquoiseDress · 23/05/2018 19:25

@PunsandNeedles
Thank you!

AdidasGirl · 23/05/2018 19:26

I just can't feel sorry for her.
I've seen what she has done to others.
Reading some of the replies on NSSN post yesterday(prior to her turning off comments obviously) turned my stomach.
The one girl with the comments about her disabled child were just awful.
