Sorry for using aibu. I need some advice, I don't have a GP at the moment and I'm wondering if this can wait until I can register when we've moved?

My period is so heavy, I've got pain in my abdomen, thighs and shoulder. I'm definitely not pregnant as I did a test last week but so far today I've saturated a cheap reusable pad, to my clothes, had to buy new underwear and jeans and i bought 3 packs of normal pads. I've saturated 4 night time pads since 4pm today, I had to come home from our lovely night out early as I just felt so Unclean and in a lot of discomfort.

Iv had a bath and that usually stops the bleeding for a bit but it didn't this time and when I got in it looked like a massacre!

Aibu? Should I just ride it out and see if I can register with a GP ASAP or does this need something sooner than next period?

Thanks

Call 111 straight away and they will probably tell you to come to A&E
Hope you are ok

Stormwhale · 21/05/2018 22:41

Good luck op. You absolutely did the right thing making that call.

RoseWhiteTips · 21/05/2018 22:42

Glad you’re getting the right care, OP. xx

mineofuselessinformation · 21/05/2018 22:44

Good for you calling them. That's not normal. I hope you get sorted.
As for the neighbours, as long as you don't have your bits out on display, don't worry about it! You need to be seen.

Hellbentwellwent · 21/05/2018 22:44

Take care op xx

Gileswithachainsaw · 21/05/2018 22:45

I have had this too OP which thankfully did just turn out to be a very heavy period. Always best to be checked out. All the very best to you.

bonzo77 · 21/05/2018 22:48

Glad 111 are taking this seriously. I remember the previous thread. Good luck OP.

TammySwansonTwo · 21/05/2018 22:51

Good luck OP - this isn’t far off my normal but I have endometriosis and periods are a hellscape. If this isn’t normal for you then getting seen at A&E is absolutely necessary. I hope it’s nothing serious. If you’re in pain, the gas and air is wondrous x

TheSassyAssassin · 21/05/2018 22:52

Good luck OP. Also got taken in for suspected ectopic once (it wasn't thankfully) but was scary at the time. Hope everything is ok Flowers

bazingabazinga · 21/05/2018 22:53

Good luck OP.

I hope it’s just a heavy period and nothing else Flowers

Poptart4 · 21/05/2018 23:00

Hope everything is OK op xx

Gagastwin · 21/05/2018 23:01

My last period I was going through a super plus tampax and an always night time pad in one hour for three days. I had to set an alarm to wake up every hour at bedtime. I swapped to my mooncup and I was filling that in 45 mins. My period lasted 9 days.

I didn't know there were any reasons to call 111 etc, I knew I wasn't pregnant so there wasn't that worry.

Best of luck op x

An ambulance is the right thing if they suspect an ectopic.

So glad they are treating it properly as you hear so many bad things about these systems. Good luck - hope it turns out to be okx

Flibbertyjibbit · 21/05/2018 23:08

Glad ambulance is on its way. Good luck OP!

BettyBettyBetty · 21/05/2018 23:09

Better to be safe than sorry OP.

MilkyCoffeeAndSkinnySyrup · 21/05/2018 23:14

I know your test was negative but that's also a sign of an ectopic pregnancy which can sometimes give you a false positive/negative! Really hope you're on the mend soon x

MilkyCoffeeAndSkinnySyrup · 21/05/2018 23:14

Shoulder pain and heavy bleeding was my symptom of an ectopic pregnancy
