Partner and dog!!

AIBU thinking my partner is a bit strange. When it comes to his dog he adores it speaks to it in a high pitched squeaky voice like you would a child. Never leaves it alone always living it. Yet when it comes to kids or babies he's not interested at all all. Just says oh.

Is this weird!!

But you have a child? Does he?
It does make a difference how you view your pets. Honestly my dog is my favourite person right now. She doesn't judge, always makes me smile, adores me and I love her to bits.

@Wolfiefan yes I have a ds he doesn't. He had been there since my ds was 2 though and treats him like his own.

I used to love dogs too when I was younger I was heartbroken when out jack Russell passed. Just seem to have changed since having my ds.

We're all different. I'm prob more a people person than an animal person... my bad.

Your right thou least they don't judge you and adore you no matter what haha

See, I love my children dearly but I love the dog more than my nephews and nieces. He's like one of my children though.

HappyStripper · 21/05/2018 22:27

I love on any dogs, my dogs, other people’s dogs, random dogs... they’re sweet and love-able. Kids on the other hand are annoying and the only people that think jimmy’s snot is cute are his parents, everyone else just pretends to be super interested for the benefit of the parents.

Kee80 · 21/05/2018 22:27

I love my nieces and nephews to bits could never imagine loving a dog or cat more than them.

Maybe suffering mcs has made me like this, made me love the babies in the family more... who knows 💁‍♀️

@HappyStripper that made me laugh. Totally agree there. I don't think any kids snot is cute.. not even my own kids haha

I love my cat way more than I love my nephews and nieces.

I mean, if there was a fire I’d save the human children and get a new cat... but I still love my cat more on a day to day basis and think he’s way cuter than children.

Kee80 · 21/05/2018 22:38

Sounds like I must be the weird one then for loving the children in my family more than the pets and thinking there cuter!!

I like my dog more than I like most people 🐶

MsGameandWatching · 21/05/2018 22:44

I'm absolutely ridiculous about my dog, silly voices etc. He does this thing where he shows his teeth when he's really happy, he doesn't do it that often but when he does I feel like I could cry with love for him. I absolutely don't love him more than my kids though but do love him more than other family kids. I think that is perfectly normal actually.

stresslessb · 21/05/2018 22:54

Love my dog talk to her all the time🙈 she doesn't say much back tbf. I don't see much of my nephew so yeah I like my dog more. I like cats too I would probably rather have a chat with a strangers cat than their child. I think he would feel differently if he has his own child in the future but he will still LOVE his dog cos they are ace.

mydogisthebest · 22/05/2018 11:03

I don't have children but do have nieces and nephews. I love them all but love my dogs more.

I think, on the whole, I prefer animals to humans. My dogs make me so happy. They have helped me so much with my depression what with walking them etc. Most days I am at home just me and my dogs and I talk to them all the time often in a silly voice. I also sing to them!

One of the things I love about DH is how much he also loves animals. Sometimes I am upstairs and hear him talking and think either he must be on the phone or someone must have come in because it sounds like a proper conversation then find he is talking to the dogs!
