I mean one minute you’re in la teaching yoga the next you’re meeting the queen, accompanying your daughter through crowds of 100,000s of cheering crowds knowing millions are watching round the world, you have no other friends or family there to support you, yet you look calm, dignified and absolutely stunning in your outfit. What a wonderful lady

She was amazing. I felt sad for her too though. Not because she needs a man or someone to validate her but Someone to be with at the reception and chat to honestly about her feelings. Happy, sad, proud, scared or Even if it was “this is awesome!!” She has lost her daughter to the royals and the commonwealth. Meghan can’t pop home to la to say hi easily at Christmas, birthdays or when she has a baby.

I hope Doria who is clearly awesome has some close friends and family to be with in L.A when she returns to talk with and relive it all.

StealthPolarBear · 19/05/2018 21:21

I hope she moves here :) but I doubt it

Katjolo · 19/05/2018 21:23

I agree with the above. Doria looked amazing. Carried hear self beautifully. Stunning woman too.

IMBU · 19/05/2018 21:28

She did really well and I really felt for her sitting there on her own trying to keep it together. She looked so proud of her daughter. I'm not especially a fan of Meghan - I don't know much about her but I have felt really sorry for her with all the drama she has had to put up with at the hands of the press and her family. At least she has her mum.

divafever99 · 19/05/2018 21:39

Beautiful lady, think she did so well. Loved her outfit.

Whisky2014 · 19/05/2018 21:44

Is anyone else not wondering how meghan could have had so little friends/family there? Shes 36. Yet she had her mum, one desr friend with her kids and some co stars. Is that not pretty weird?

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 19/05/2018 21:45

Doria looks a wonderful woman and I think she'll be a great MIL. I loved how she showed emotion but kept her poise. Fabulous outfit. She was a triumph after what must have been a very difficult few weeks.

Pikehau · 19/05/2018 21:47

Whisky2014 did Shen really not have anyone else there? I don’t know just asking. That’s sad if she didn’t. She posted all those photos on Instagram etc prior to all this - surely those people were there we just don’t know who they were?

Whisky2014 · 19/05/2018 21:48

Some celeb friends thats it. Bit really..where are all her mates?!

areyoubeingserviced · 19/05/2018 21:53

Doria was my favourite guest today.
She was indeed regal, calm and just looking out for her daughter.
I don’t care what anyone says, MM is a remarkable woman and it’s probay mostly due to her wonderful mother.

MorningsEleven · 19/05/2018 21:54

Doria came across as the epitome of grace. She seemed very glad of Charles' support.

areyoubeingserviced · 19/05/2018 21:54

I loved her hair

PrimalLass · 19/05/2018 21:59

I think Meghan's friends were near her mum? I read that somewhere.

stressedoutfred · 19/05/2018 22:02

Some of the pageboys/bridesmaids were children of her friends, so I'm assuming their parents were there too?

picklemepopcorn · 19/05/2018 22:11

She was lovely! I'm surprised she wasn't allocated an escort from among the experienced members of court. It would have been nice for her to have someone who has experience of how things are done, what to do if things go wrong, etc. I would have liked that, anyway.

Given that Meghan has moved around so much, she may have only a few close friends.

Bearhunter09 · 19/05/2018 22:12

I’m so hoping we see more of this lady. She’s the first person to get unanimous support on mumsnet. Here’s hoping she is well and truly welcomed. Charles did seem to really look after her. He also went right up in my estimations over this wedding

She did have some friends there. According to a BBC article, she has a small close-knit circle of friends and some of them had a hand on organising the wedding. Seems to me that she choose the key people in her circle and drew the line there. Not everyone wants, has or needs a huge number of friends at their wedding.

BananaMilkshake13 · 19/05/2018 22:32

Doria is a black woman who rocks! Was so proud and emotional watching the wedding. Soo inclusive, the choir had me in tears, have never seen anything like it.

HappyLollipop · 19/05/2018 22:47

Doria is an amazing, strong, classy and beautiful black woman who raised a brilliant daughter, just a wonderful woman all round. She'll be a great MIL and (hopefully) eventually grandmother!

buckeejit · 19/05/2018 22:56

I thought she was awesome too & not afraid to show her sincerity when agreeing with the crazy preacher. It was good.

AnneElliott · 19/05/2018 22:57

I thought she looked lovely- and it was an amazing hat.

grannynap · 19/05/2018 23:09

She is amazing!

According to her wickipedia she's rumoured to be going on Oprah Smile

emmyrose2000 · 20/05/2018 02:41

Classy, dignified and very nicely dressed.

It must be a bit mind blowing for an everyday American woman (or man) to see their daughter marrying the son of a future king of England, and wearing an heirloom tiara worn by a past queen.

AjasLipstick · 20/05/2018 02:47

I never thought anything negative about her being alone at all. SHe's perfectly capable. She wasn't alone anyway but was surrounded by lovely people who will have made her very at home.

All this "deeply sad" shite is quite odd.

DistanceCall · 20/05/2018 03:21

No. I'm 41 and I don't have many friends either. People are different.
