Meghan's dress was lovely but lumpy looking,/ill fitting bra look

Anyone else notice how lumpy it looked at front like when you wear a bra that's two small and you have two cleavages lt spoiled it for me tbh though l think she looked stunning. I thought it might just be the light as it is quite shimmery but have noticed it in several shots /light now. A wardrobe malfunction?

I ws really disappointed with the dress. Thought it was very plain and didn't fit too well. Also why were none of the bridesmaids etc holding the veil when she exited the church or went to the vestry, or sat down? She was having to manage it herself.

IcedPurple · 19/05/2018 15:04

When I first saw the dress I thought it was stunning - but I think that was more the overall impression. The beautiful building, the flowers, the music.... and she herself looked gorgeous.

On reflection though.... it was ill-fitting and lacked that 'wow' factor. A simple, clean-cut design like this HAS to be fit perfectly... and this didn't. How this can happen with a custom Givenchy dress which costs several times the average annual salary is something I simply do not understand.

Here comes the beautiful bride - then all the Bitches just have to be snide!!!!

IrisAtwood · 19/05/2018 15:10

This thread reminds me of a quote from Frasier ‘The ideal meal, almost perfect with a flaw to pick over for the evening.’

WickedLazy · 19/05/2018 15:10

I thought she looked gorgeous, I didn't notice any lumps or bumps. Her dress wasn't at all what I thought she would go for, I was pleasently surprised. I prefered it to kates which I didn't expect. It was perfect.

carnitine · 19/05/2018 15:10

Her dress was fabulous and perfect on her tiny frame.

WickedLazy · 19/05/2018 15:12

The nipples showing doesn't bother me one bit. I rarely wear a bra these days, and have given up caring what prudes think.

IcedPurple · 19/05/2018 15:13

I see according to some people we are not allowed to point out the poor fit of a dress - costing a few times the annual salary and in a wedding where the security is funded by the taxpayer - because that's 'bitchy'.

How dull.

Bluelady · 19/05/2018 15:13

It was chic, elegant, understated. So pleased she didn't go with the current fashion which seems to be to wear a size too small. She was a stylish beautiful bride.

cleofatra · 19/05/2018 15:17

Is it actually bitchy to say you don't like an outfit or dress? Or is it just voicing your preference?

IcedPurple · 19/05/2018 15:18

#Cleofatra#

Apparantly so. I don't see anyone here being 'bitchy'. Most people are saying that Meghan herself looked gorgeous, just that the dress was poorly fitted. Which it very obviously was.

mydogisthebest · 19/05/2018 15:22

If I were as beautiful as Meghan I too would choose a very simple dress and let my beauty shine (not jealous at all!)

Ruffian · 19/05/2018 15:27

I wasn't mad about the dress or the train, when she came out of the car and was enveloped in the veil it reminded me of one of those creepy funnel webs

FairfaxAikman · 19/05/2018 15:36

@SayImADreamer

I meant some have this idea of her being a brash American divorcee, completely devoid of class.

juneau · 19/05/2018 15:37

I thought the dress was disappointing and the veil too long, but the tiara was gorgeous and I thought Meghan herself looked lovely.

WickedLazy · 19/05/2018 15:48

"You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time", I forget who said it.

LucilleBluth · 19/05/2018 15:53

So we are not allowed to slag off the preacher who made it all about himself and went on for far too long....um, ok then. Why is he above criticism?

Bearhunter09 · 19/05/2018 15:55

I thought it was a lovely dress but far too plain for a royal wedding IMO. Without the smallish train it could have been an evening dress. But most importantly what was that American pastor on? Most of the guest faces were like wtaf?

silverturtle · 19/05/2018 16:04

I found the reception menu a bit weird. 2 x asparagus options, 2 x free range chicken, 2 x pea based.

noeffingidea · 19/05/2018 16:05

I loved her dress. I actually preferred it to Kate Middleton's dress, but thats just personal preference. I prefer a plain simple design to lace.
Perhaps she wanted it to be a bit looser because she thought she might have been criticised if it had been really tight and clingy, or perhaps she just wanted to feel comfy. Who knows?

Ravenesque · 19/05/2018 16:05

I don't really get the ill-fitting thing. It seemed to me that that it was designed to have a little bit of room while keeping the simple lines. Cut any tighter and it would have looked far less classy. It's a royal wedding. If the fit had been so wrong, they'd have had people there to make it "fit right" before she went out in it.

I didn't watch the wedding, but I've seen the photos from lots of different angles, it was a beautiful dress which was just right for the tiara she wore.

BMW6 · 19/05/2018 16:07

I've made a fair few wedding and bridesmaids dresses in my time and thought the dress was perfectly fitted to that design. Sleek, smooth and elegant. A closer fit would have destroyed the "line".
Superb and entirely suitable to the person wearing it and the surroundings.

LynetteScavo · 19/05/2018 16:10

FFS her nipples weren't showing! The fabric & lining were too thick for that.

There would always be someone criticising the dress. Personally I think she got it just right. maybe because I went for something similar for my wedding dress

specialsubject · 19/05/2018 16:15

a wedding dress is never wow if it is a long white frock. what else was anyone expecting?

RomeoBunny · 19/05/2018 16:17

Tiara stunning. Veil stunning. Dress not so stunning. It just didn't fit well and was too 'matte'. If it wad the same dress in a far lighter fabric it would have been to die for. As such... it's more going back to 2008 plain fabrics.
