Just that really as so much negativity surrounding this wedding.
Meghan looked stunning as did her mother.
The sermon was thoughtful and humorous and Harry looked head over heels in love...

Camilla's hat was hilarious!

It was like road-kill wasn't it. Probably cost about £5k too.

Almost in a parr with Beatrice's Prezel monstrosity from W+K's wedding

gravytrains · 19/05/2018 14:14

The style thread was positive. We’re happy people!

Weezol · 19/05/2018 14:15

I'm pretty sure one of the littlest bridesmaids was busting to go straight to Uncle Harry once Megan had arrived at the altar, she was looking right at him while being towed away by her pal.

liz70 · 19/05/2018 14:18

Or for ZP to be escorted out, clutching her bump, waters broken and contractions coming up every 10 seconds, to have her baby before she managed to even get out of the chapel, tv soap style.

blueskypink · 19/05/2018 14:18

What sort of father isn't looking straight at the couple at this vital vital moment! Tosser!

Maybe one who's feeling emotional and needs to look down to compose himself?

Maybe one who's deep in thought about the whole occasion?

Maybe one who's remembering his marriage to Harry's mother.

Really - what difference does it make to anyone where he's looking? Angry

BackforGood · 19/05/2018 14:28

well said blueskypink

Grin liz70 she did look uncomfortable

elephantscanring · 19/05/2018 14:35

Kate didn’t look At the couple at all when they made their vows either. Weird.

HateIsNotGood · 19/05/2018 14:35

I am completely into both Doria standing alone and Meghan walking herself for the first part up the Aisle - now that's Strong Women - confident enough and with enough self-belief to do it themselves.

"Love Is The Way" - brilliant.

gravytrains · 19/05/2018 14:36

How do you know elephant?

Faultymain5 · 19/05/2018 14:36

You all do know that style of preaching takes place every week in this country right? Geez. If you liked it try finding a local, evangelical, new testament or even Baptist church.

If you didn't like it. Don't. Whenever we criticise things we're not used to it doesn't make us sound nice.

StayingAtTamaras · 19/05/2018 14:36

I loved the preacher talking about poverty in front of the royal family and I especially enjoyed all of them looking so uncomfortable and trying not to laugh

Well I was very dubious of the whole thing, BUT I watched it all and loved it! I thought they looked lovely together and meghan is just so smiley! Real. She has definitely grown on me. I wish them the very best.

KirstenRaymonde · 19/05/2018 14:43

@Faultymain5 agreed. My church is full of excitement, joy and passion for God. That kind of sermon makes perfect sense to me, though it was certainly unusual compared to what that chapel would usually see.

I thought the whole service was beautiful, represented them both and was filled with love and joy. What more can you want from a wedding?

HateIsNotGood · 19/05/2018 14:43

And I am actually proud to be British on this day - I'm so sick of us knocking ourselves down for the minority in this country who hold narrow-minded, racist, etc views - the majority of us don't and I think the Royal Family are more socially-aware than many in similar economic or otherwise bubbles.

So now can we go cup half-full and see the positives our very open-minded country and the negatives/half-empty will reduce.

Walkaboutwendy · 19/05/2018 14:43

I think it was a brilliant ceremony. Loved the dress, the preacher and the strong woman her mum is. Good luck to them.

The only thing are can't work out is why Elton Johnwas there? I know he WAS a friend of their mum's but what's his involvement now? Can anyone enlightened me?

BastardMs · 19/05/2018 14:44

I thought the preacher was great, loved him. Also the young cellist who played whilst they signed the register was fantastic.

Brokenbiscuit · 19/05/2018 14:45

What's wrong with having Elton John there as a friend of Harry's mum?

Walkaboutwendy · 19/05/2018 14:52

I didn't say it was wrong Hmm I was asking why. I thought there was some big falling out where the princes had distanced themselves from the celeb circle their mum used to be in.

Dapplegrey · 19/05/2018 14:59

Who were those adorable page boys who carried Meghan's train?

blueskypink · 19/05/2018 15:00

Well Elton played a key role at Diana's funeral and had been a close friend of hers, despite the reported falling out. Harry is said to have wanted to make his mother's presence felt at his wedding. So .......

Walkaboutwendy · 19/05/2018 15:10

Ah thanks blue that makes more sense. But I thought Diana had fallen out with Elton before she died? Maybe I'm behind a bit Grin

Anyway it was a lovely day. Anyone know where they are going on honeymoon?

TeaStory · 19/05/2018 17:39

I thought Diana had fallen out with Elton before she died?

Don’t think so. It was only a couple of weeks before her death that she was comforting Elton at Versace’s funeral.

StayingAtTamaras · 19/05/2018 18:28

@Dapplegrey Her best friends little boys

SteveMcGarrettsBudgieSmugglers · 19/05/2018 18:51

the boys were great, at that age mine would have started playing ghosts with the train and ended up fighting

it is things like this that make you proud to be British, here in France they are really interested

Amanduh · 19/05/2018 18:53

I didn’t like the dress but I loved the rest. Harry and Wills giggling, then Harry
Infatuated, Kate playing with Charlotte, Charles walking her. The crowds, the happiness, the whole vibe makes me smile!
