Just that really as so much negativity surrounding this wedding.
Meghan looked stunning as did her mother.
The sermon was thoughtful and humorous and Harry looked head over heels in love...

Oh and I love that she's gone so au natural make up wise, she has really cute freckles.

LokiBear · 19/05/2018 13:08

Shes gorgeous. I want to give her mum a hug though. She has done brilliantly considering sges done it all alone. The queen should give her the coat of arms.

Goingalonenow · 19/05/2018 13:14

It was lovely.

AnElderlyLadyOfMediumHeight · 19/05/2018 13:17

'A black preacher vigorously quoting Martin Luther King at a royal wedding in quite stuffy surroundings was quite something. Amazing.'

So much this. I'm quite high church really but I loved that breath of fresh, sincere, passionate air in the heart of the British establishment. And I loved the love/fire analogy. Food for thought.

Harry and Meghan looked sincerely and movingly happy.

Ikabod · 19/05/2018 13:20

I wasn't going to watch it, but did and am pleased I did.

BackforGood · 19/05/2018 13:22

Agree DaisyChain. I'm not partiularly a Chrles fan, but thought he was 'the man' today.
Loved the preacher.
Loved the outfits. Everyone's (ok, well almost Wink)
Meghan looks beautiful. Queen, as every looks so lovely. Kate, Sophie, both stunning as ever. Does seem a shame Doria was on her own.
Love the grinning page boy / train carriers.

MissusGeneHunt · 19/05/2018 13:23

Loved it, a joyous occasion!

AhoyDelBoy · 19/05/2018 13:27

@GreenItWas
Yes I noticed this too, very weird!

SteveMcGarrettsBudgieSmugglers · 19/05/2018 13:28

a lip reader friend said that Harry said to her "I'm shitting it" Grin

AhoyDelBoy · 19/05/2018 13:29

The preacher was horrendous and embarressing IMO
Lucky my opinion doesn't matter

SayImADreamer · 19/05/2018 13:29

@SteveMcGarrettsBudgieSmugglers
I saw him mouth "you looking amazing"!

TheLastNigel · 19/05/2018 13:31

Loved it all. Except her whispy hair which did my head in!
Beauty though xx and lovely excuse to drink some prosecco before 12 Smile

liz70 · 19/05/2018 13:31

The preacher may have gone on a bit, but this was the least "white" wedding in British royal history, and that can only be a good thing.

ikeepaforkinmypurse · 19/05/2018 13:37

Not a fan of Kate, but she just had a baby, maybe she is feeling very emotional and trying really hard to keep a dignified face when she just wants to shed a tear! leave her alone

VelvetSpoon · 19/05/2018 13:38

I thought she looked lovely. I knew she would go for a very plain and elegant dress.

I feel sorry for her mum, the only member of her family there. I know her half siblings are on her dad's side but are there no others of her mum's relatives that she has any contact with. Just feel her mum must have so many conflicting emotions, so proud of her daughter but prob a bit lonely/ far from home too. I hope all the Royals make her feel welcome.

Aprilmightbemynewname · 19/05/2018 13:39

Was hoping to see lots of tots doing inappropriate things though!!

OutsideContextProblem · 19/05/2018 13:43

Lovely wedding but I did feel for her mum all on her own while everyone else was in groups of friends and families.

SayImADreamer · 19/05/2018 13:44

@OutsideContextProblem
I just dont get why she didnt bring a mate.

Brokenbiscuit · 19/05/2018 13:48

Well, I'm no royalist but watched it because dd wanted to and I actually quite enjoyed it!

Loved the preacher talking about MLK and poverty at a British royal wedding - how refreshing! Enjoyed watching all of the royals stifling their giggles and trying to work out how to react. Loved the gospel choir and the amazing cellist. And they did look like they were genuinely in love, which was lovely.

Really felt for Meghan's mum though - she looked very alone. I was glad that Charles held her hand. I imagine the reception will be quite a testing experience for her.

Camilla's hat was hilarious!

MiniCooperLover · 19/05/2018 13:49

There's loads of Americans there as guests, the Mum will be fine I'm sure. She did seem v isolated during the ceremony though

daisychain01 · 19/05/2018 14:04

The preacher was horrendous and embarressing IMO

I did find myself cringing just a nad, I think it was the 2 dozen or more mentions of Love was perhaps a bit over-egging the pudding there, ole chap.

I bet Prince Philip was muttering to himself along the lines of "ffs you've made your point, get on with it you boring old fart".

BackforGood · 19/05/2018 14:05

The only disappointment from my pov is that none of the tiny attendants did anything to embarrass their parents Grin

daisychain01 · 19/05/2018 14:07

I thought the Queen's Chaplain did a much better job, measured, subdued and in keeping with the event. She said eloquently in only a few words what the preacher took 10minutes to ramble on about

daisychain01 · 19/05/2018 14:09

I know, BackforGood it was really a let-down wasn't it.

I was desperate for a nice display of nose-picking, yawning or dramatic and spontaneous knicker-wetting. What a shame!

KirstenRaymonde · 19/05/2018 14:11

The preacher was fabulous and representative of the American style of church. But honestly, the CofE could do with a bit of injection of his passion, if you believe in an awesome, loving, powerful God that is something to get excited about.
