Hi just writing to see if there is any one with advise out there. I am a wheelchair user and have gained roughly two stones in weight because of this. Any advise on how to lose this excess weight?
Thanks all

I'm becoming rather bitter and angry. So tired of being brave and vaguely inspirational.

I know exactly what you mean.

It’s such a habit to “model resilience” to the D.C. no matter why goes wrong. But I’m being hit by repeated waves of “Fuck, this is permenant”. I’ve been grumpy as hell again this week.

No matter what goes wrong.

Nope. It was 5.30am, my linguistic brain needs coffee.

Is therapy helping Freudian?

sashh no, that would have been a big ask before breakfast 🙂

Medication is notoriously tricky to get right isn’t it? It sounds as though you have a good consultant, though.

If you are looking for accessible physical activities then google the name of your local authority + local offer. These do vary in content as most are works in progress but yours may include links to what is available locally.

Yes Battle it's keeping that grin plastered on for the kids. I'm getting fed up of it.

Just the other day, DD(22) was telling me about something sad that had happened to one of her friend's families, and she said, "We're so lucky aren't we, nothing awful has happened to any of us".

And I'm sitting there in my wheelchair going, "Hmm" Hmm

To be fair, when she had gone and I'd vented a bit to DH, he said he'd already made a mental note to have a quiet word with her.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 20/05/2018 16:39

To be fair, DD is very caring and I worry that she would worry far too much about me if she realised how much I was struggling mentally.

Battleax · 20/05/2018 19:00

It’s really, really difficult, isn’t it? Sad

My older two are almost that age (both uni age) and you don’t want them weighed down by it but sugar coating it and playing the happy patient have their downsides too.

There aren’t many examples for any of this in society or culture, either. Most life events you have some kind of template for.

We could start support thread in SN boards for daily slog? Losing weight whilst Disabled along with 99% of life is geared at Able bodied not any advic for the “others”.

Battleax · 21/05/2018 00:14

Good idea. I took the liberty of starting one. (Until MNHQ is kind enough to give us a board Grin )
