to have so many driving peeves?

This is kind of just for fun but I’m intrigued to know what everyone’s top 3 driving peeves are... I’ll start...

  1. No indicators. Got to be. Especially on busy roundabouts, junctions etc or when cutting you up on dual carriageway. Anytime really 🙄
  2. Drivers who don’t say thank you when you’ve done something nice. Like it’s just a little wave but it makes all the difference! 👋🏻
  3. Drivers who can’t stick to one speed limit on a dual carriageway. Going from 70 to 90 to 80 is just silly. I usually find it goes I overtake them, they overtake me, then I overtake them, then they overtake me. It’s ridiculous. Does make me giggle at how much more fuel they’ll use 🤣 (not to brag but I have the luxury of cruise control so I know it’s not me!)

Please do let me know. I’m very curious.

Saw one prat today.

Pulled up at a junction indicating to turn right, but it's a no right turn. Did this bother her? No it didn't. Oblivious to cars and lorries bibbing at her like mad, them trying to get around her to carry on their journey, a few pedestrians indicating her error to her but no, she wasn't going to budge and held up traffic until she made the illegal turn.

It isn't the first time I've seen this type of behaviour. Wish I'd reported her as she was nattering on her mobile all the while Hmm

Oh, just today I had to break, already on a roundabout, for another car dangerously entering it. I beeped hard. She waved with her mobile phone. Dangerous arse.

I have a lot of these, but here's a bit of a niche one. People who drive their car onto a closed road full of runners. The signs have been up for at least two weeks- you've had time to make alternative plans.

"Drivers who pull up to a junction which is wide enough to fit two cars side by side to turn left or right but they sit in the middle. So you have to sit behind them waiting for them"

I do this very deliberately at one particular road junction Liberation and it is absolutely reasonable for me to do it. Its where I have to turn right crossing two lanes of fast moving traffic where the speed limit is 50mph. It is further complicated by a right hand filter lane on the 50mph main road turning into the side road that I am trying to exit. If someone pulls up on my inside to turn left they completely obstruct my view of traffic coming on my left and I will often miss an opportunity to go - and obviously there are far fewer opportunities to turn right than there are to turn left.

Drivers who try and get in on my left at this particular junction should wait their turn and not be so entitled.

Hmc incompletely see your reasoning for that because it sounds like an awful junction. I wouldn't go as far as calling drivers who do try and get in on your left entitled and should wait their turn though because technically they aren't actually doing anything wrong because the road is wide enough to fit two cars side by side.

I imagine the queue is also quite long if everyone turning right sits in the middle of the junction with people wanting to turn left having to wait.
