Listening now to Jo Wiley whining on about something in a very monotone voice. I've started switching on for the confession at 6:10 and then I turn off again. I REALLY CAN'T STAND HER!!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! She's on the Friday All Requester as well!! Started shouting at the radio just now, for some reason I thought it was just Simon. I shouted and then nearly started crying.

What a ridiculous reaction but I loved Friday, pottering around the kitchen and listening to Simon (Not as good as Drivetime during the week, but still good)

I listened a bit this evening.

Jo is just awful at talking to the people that phone in. It’s forced and excruciating. Simon made chatting to listeners effortless.

Also, any ‘banter’ between them is entirely wrong.

I've just turned it off, couldn't stand it, it just makes me feel really sad which isn't what I want on a Friday night. I've found last Fridays Drivetime on iPlayer so I am listening to that. Then I'll have to move onto confessions.

I still remember weeping when Chris Evans took over breakfast. I have tried listening again recently and it's the same puerile shit that it was 11 year ago. I liked Simon Mayo too- ah well that's pretty well the whole of radio 2 gone for me now. I wish steve wright would piss off too.

I actually think this has been pretty good today. Like everyone else I was gutted about the change and have barely listened to the last four days, but today has been enjoyable. It may just be the only show I'll bother to tune into each week.

As someone else said, the into was horrible. The intro to ARF used to be great, and they need to work on that. And why change the muppets song?

I've been dreading the new format since they announced it months ago. I've been amazed that Matt took it with such equanimity, knowing that he'd be off eventually. It turned out worse than expected. I can't listen to it.

The BBC felt they had to get a woman onto daytime R2 permanently, but they felt unable to sack Evans, Bruce, Vine, Wright or Mayo, presumably because they would be accused of ‘ageism’.

So instead of biting the bullet they ruin Simon’s show by inflicting Whiley on him, and us. However much of a disaster the new show is, they won’t get rid of her because she’s female.

They must have hoped Simon would be so pissed off that he would walk. Judging by this week, I wouldn’t be surprised if he did.

Listen to Simon's first words on the wittertainment podcast today. Mark and Simon attempted to pretend they were about something else, but I can make up my own mind - as I am sure everyone else will.

They could have replaced Jeremy Vine at lunchtime with a woman if they had to change someone's show. It really doesn't work with Simon and Jo, there styles are too different.

Really hope they don't continue the show as it doesn't work and it's spoiling the drive home!

This was the only radio show I liked, apart from Graham Norton. I'm gutted and my dh is fed up with my ranting about how self obsessed and patronising Jo Wiley is. She mocked one of the callers accent on Friday. She's just awful. The ear goo isn't something she should share, or her dead wisteria...died of boredom probably. 'Track'!! Gah!!! She doesn't let Simon get a word in edgeways. I miss Matt during the confessions. Although I noticed Simon introduced Bobby as 'irreplaceable'. I'm so angry about the change. I think it's to phase Simon out.

I love nutella and I love broccoli but that doesn't mean I want them together. I really love jo whiley, but listening to her trying to make small talk with Dave the trucker from slough or whoever is just painful.

It sounds an over reaction but it has really taken something very good out of my life. I loved hearing the banter and Simin’s very intelligent but gentle wit. I loved the fact it was aimed at our age group. I am very unhappy with the replacement and I have complained and will write to the controller of radio 2.

Simon must be absolutely raging that his very successful and much loved show is going down the pan. Imagine doing a brilliant job for years then being told you now have to jobshare. And totally agree, the life hacks segment is awful. Today was life hacks for getting engaged. Ridiculous.
