Listening now to Jo Wiley whining on about something in a very monotone voice. I've started switching on for the confession at 6:10 and then I turn off again. I REALLY CAN'T STAND HER!!!

The show is starting to settle down now some of you are so cruel Simon and Jo have been good friends for 25 years. As a nation generally we don't like change after a while you will get use to it you may even like it eventually...The problem with social media is everyone jumps on the bandwagon too quickly.

I stopped listening as it was awful, their chemistry didn't work, however, I've tried again the last couple of day and there is a big improvement. They sound like the get on better and have learnt how to take each other's humour. If it keeps improving in a few months maybe it will be great. They're both brilliant independently so maybe it will work after all.

I only get to listen to bits of the programme but all they seem to have done is taken a female presenter off her own show and made her part of an ensemble. She hasn't got much more airtime than the travel and sports people that come on and comment periodically. What was the point of that? They'll have to take Steve Wright out in a box unfortunately even though he's awful, but why not wait until Jeremy Vine or Chris Evans move on? Sara Cox and Vanessa Feltz are good when they stand in.

I saw that news item and thought it was so goady!

The headline implies changes will be made but when you read the piece it just reiterated the tired message that people will learn to love it.

Whatever happened to it being a public service, not a private business?

I like it! But I found the old show tedious. My preference would have been for Steve Wright to leave and literally anyone else take up that slot and bury "serious jockin no g" for fucking ever.

Please would everyone who is passionate about getting Simon Mayo's Drivetime back, go to //www.change.org and sign the petition on there. The new show is DIRE! I used to listen to the show every evening while preparing the dinner. Now I'm cooking in silence. I keep switching the radio on in the hope that it has improved but switch it off again when I realise it hasn't.

I wrote to complain to the BBC through their complaints page and received no reply. So I wrote to BBC Radio 4 Feedback. The company that makes the programme have responded today saying that the changes are being covered in their programme on Friday 15th so it would be good if they get a flurry of complaints. Simon Mayo over 6 million listeners for drivetime

Jo Wiley just under 2 million for her evening show

Would love to see new figures since new show has been on air. It seems like names picked out of a hat logic. Makes no sense. I love chocolate and I love pickled onions, together? Awful indigestion.

Jo had her own show and was probably earning a lot of money as it was so why have her on with SM? Doesn’t make sense all this and no body seems to like it either.

Jonathan Ross is a brilliant radio personality, he had the best Saturday morning show until he cocked it all up with Russell Brand .

He should be brought back on the afternoon show , and put Drivetime back as it should’ve been left exactly how it was.

I don’t care about needing to get more women on, I just want the right person for the job.

Sara Cox is funny, has warmth and knows how to chat over the airwaves, she’s 10 times better at daytime radio than JW so why she hasn’t been considered for a prime time slot is the more important question.

I like it. I like the fact that a woman has at least been given some sort of regular slot and i like the fact that it is on til 8.
As SM is on 350k to 400k presumably he decided not to flounce.
Time will tell. Now if they can get rid of Ken Bruce and pop Zoe into that slot, happy days.

I can't see the appeal, I just couldn't listen to him. An arrogant bully, pretending it's all banter but no better than a playground bully. I bet his sidekick is glad he's gone.

8pm onwards keep everything as it is

So basically you're cutting an hour off Steve Wright's show which actually isn't a bad thing at least Whiley can speak as much as she wants and give Simon his space back.

Magic turns into a show called Time in east london when i drive up there - i like it but the adverts drive me mad.

same with LBC, great radio, but too many ads that go on and on.
