For playing NWA loudly in the garden

13 year old DS can't hear as he's upstairs with headphones on.

Will my neighbours be offended?

I don't actually want to fuck the police FWIW.

ODB is next.

I wouldn't be offended at all. I'm not a huge fan of listening to other people's music when I'm in my garden as its not often my kind of music but a bit of NWA or any rap is right up my street.

Not sure what other people with different music tastes would think however!

megletthesecond · 14/05/2018 16:13

You probably shouldn't.
I keep that sort of thing for my running playlist.

SluttyButty · 14/05/2018 16:13

It's not my kinda thing but if I hear a teen or anyone playing that genre of music when I'm sat outside my feet start tapping and bopping away Grin

Doyoumind · 14/05/2018 16:14

Are you worried about the language rather than the style of music? If there are a lot of expletives and you have young children within earshot your neighbours would be within their rights to be annoyed.

Crispbutty · 14/05/2018 16:16

I dont want to hear anyone else playing their music LOUDLY. Put headphones on.

QuizzlyBear · 14/05/2018 16:18

Your choice of music is fine - it's your home/your choice!

The choice to play any music loudly in the garden however (unless you have no neighbours) is antisocial and would piss me right off. YABU

Aragog · 14/05/2018 16:19

I wouldn't play anything with bad language loud enough for anyone else to hear.

There could be children playing nearby. Some of your adult neighbours may not want to hear offensive language.

FWIW I'd rather not have to listen to neighbour's music regardless of their tastes when I'm sat enjoying the sun in my garden.

FemaleDilbert · 14/05/2018 16:22

Playing any music LOUDLY in the garden makes you an arsehole.

HTH

mumtomaxwell · 14/05/2018 16:22

Anyone who plays music in their garden loud enough for others to hear it is a selfish twat. Don’t be that person.

I lived next door to someone who did this most weekends and I complained to their landlord every single time. They got evicted. I wouldn’t hesitate to do the same again.

Ebeneser · 14/05/2018 16:24

I'm with the YABU crowd. Even without the questionable language, I hate neighbours that feel compelled to play loud music in their gardens, especially when you have 2 sets blaring out different things at the same time. It pisses me off so much I have to retreat indoors and shut all my windows and doors.

yolofish · 14/05/2018 16:25

I am afraid you are being a twat OP - why would your neighbours want to listen to any of your musical choices?

EmpressOfSpartacus · 14/05/2018 16:26

I wouldn't really care what you were playing loudly, I'd just be annoyed that you were playing it. Then I'd remind myself that it was far too early to object and either close doors & windows or put headphones on, while mentally calling you a wankbadger.

Lilacwine1 · 14/05/2018 16:52

I can't stand people who play loud music in the garden. Why the FH would I want to listen to somebody else's choice of music foisted on me. Get some headphones.

gamerwidow · 14/05/2018 17:01

I’m with the PPs even if it was my favourite music I still wouldn’t want to hear my neighbours blasting it out in the garden. I doubt anyone would be shocked by NWA it’s a 30 year old band whose members are the establishment now. You’re hardly sticking it to the man by playing them.

Keepittenten · 14/05/2018 17:02

If children about/in vicinity/likely to overhear...I would switch to radio edit. Don’t have an objection to volume if you are enjoying music in own garden.

Aragog · 14/05/2018 17:03

I think the fact that you comment that your own 13y is okay because he had headphones on and can't hear shows that you know that the chances are you're being unreasonable tbh.

RoomOfRequirement · 14/05/2018 18:13

Playing music loudly in the garden makes you a selfish twat regardless of what you're playing.

maxthemartian · 14/05/2018 18:17

Well why not, my neighbour does!

thetriangleisarealinstrument · 14/05/2018 18:18

Id like it! Please come and live next door to me. We get fucking Ed Sheerhan..... on repeat :-(

KC225 · 14/05/2018 19:29

If you played NWA next door to me I'd be quite happy - what are you following it up with .......whoop whoop thats da sounds of the Police

MightyMucks · 14/05/2018 20:36

Only acceptable if Yella is makin’ it acapella.

Ohmydayslove · 14/05/2018 20:39

Bet childish and selfish op! Get earphones or move remote. No one else wants to hear your music. Grow up

ForalltheSaints · 14/05/2018 20:52

It would give licence to others to play so-called music of their choice. If you like Coldplay you should keep it to yourself.

Bearhunter09 · 14/05/2018 21:01

Unless your back garden is knebworth and there are paying ticket holders, no one wants to hear music in your back garden, whatever it is! Throwing in bad language is awful. Everything about the situation is selfish!

HotSauceCommittee · 14/05/2018 21:05

I would shout to you over the fence to turn it up for me. I’ve actually done that to the neighbours before.
