Gifted as a verb
Wellness
Super when used to exaggerate an adjective e.g super cute

thesockgap · 12/05/2018 18:17

"Om nom nom" makes me want to heave.
Holibobs or jollies
Hubby/hubster
Wifey
Lil man / Lil lady
"Bubbles" when used to mean prosecco/cava/champagne - so twee, it gives me the rage!!!!!
Wine / gin o'clock
People putting holiday photos on Facebook captioned "Joneses On Tour" or whatever their name is.
Fur babies for pets
Obvs
"Sleeps" instead of days till....
There is a long, long list in my mind but these are just the first few I could think of that really set my teeth on edge!!!

TacoFlavouredKisses · 12/05/2018 18:19

"Cuppa". Blergh.

WellWellWellifitisntyou · 12/05/2018 18:20

Nom. "Om nom nom nom". Sickens me for some reason.

Troutfin · 12/05/2018 18:28

Kids
Gross
Belly
Poorly
Lush
San pro
Choccy or choc
Bro ('you good bro?' is DD's new favourite saying Angry)

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 12/05/2018 18:58

"Treat" as in - "what a treat!" Massive mom.

Moist.

DeltaG · 12/05/2018 20:00

Also 'mummy milk'..... 🤮

JumpingFrogs · 12/05/2018 20:06

"Me-time" - sounds so needy and childish. Ugh !

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 12/05/2018 20:10

Comfy

kaykay72 · 12/05/2018 20:11

Moist
Panties (shudder)
Gawjuss/gorjuss Angry
Famalam

My pet hate is people using local terminology when visiting a place - like my DH saying he ‘needs to visit the bathroom’ when we were in New York. No - you need to find a toilet. Gives me The Rage.

iwillinmyarse · 12/05/2018 21:14

Amazing!!

Is it just me but it seems to me the most overused word these days, drives me mad😡.

Known as the “A” word in our house ( in same category as the “f” word & the “S” word )

Isleepinahedgefund · 12/05/2018 21:16

Moist

Flaccid

Giblets

ichbineinstasumer · 12/05/2018 21:21

'jewel bright' - if as an author or would-be author you find yourself reaching for 'jewel bright' having left primary school, do not give up the day job.

Also, 'I love the very bones of him/her' - cringe

although phrases here not words so perhaps I am cheating

WalkingOnAFlashlightBeam · 12/05/2018 21:23

Oh god, love the bones of him is horrific. Like talking about a decomposed body.

SilkandSteel · 12/05/2018 21:29

Cuppa
Pic
Tix
Fam

ichbineinstasumer · 12/05/2018 21:29

also 'to plate up'
beaker (my mum says this for mugs, it's proba bly a generation thing but I hate it)

Ohyesiam · 12/05/2018 21:35

Pound used as a pleural.

I paid 20 pound for that plate.
I have to really bite my tongue not to growl “poundS it’s pleural”.

TotHappy · 12/05/2018 21:42

Grin 'its pleural' made me think of pleurisy i.e. Makes you want to cough your guts up. I might start using pleural now instead of disgusting.

Clarich007 · 12/05/2018 21:46

Alcoholic beverage
24/7
Touching base
Pushing the envelope.
Passed away.

YourVagesty · 12/05/2018 21:47

Anything that's overused.

Batshit, for example, wasn't funny the first time I heard it. It hasn't improved by being used 70 million times since then.

'MIND BLOWN' - usually by something not very mind blowing.

Anything Buzzfeedy

Clarich007 · 12/05/2018 21:53

"Boob the baby to sleep"
No just no !
I should of known instead of i should have known.
Grown angel wings
Princess
Lil man

UserEleventyBillion · 12/05/2018 21:56

Phlegm.
Clunge.
Holibobs.
Babe.
Calling random people mate. (I'm not your buddy, guy).

Clarabumps · 12/05/2018 21:56

It's mainly Instagram speak that drives me mental.
"This one..."
"Goals"
"insert shite thing here is life"
Slide into dms.

Non insta related is
Fizzy pop.
Squash. Something about it makes me cringe.
Hollibags/bobs
Measuring things in sleeps (over the age of 10)

Derwent19 · 12/05/2018 22:11

toastie (when people mean warm)
cuppa
OJ (instead of orange juice)
egg
fanny
fart
millennial (loathsome, generic and useless word)
snowflake
reach out
passed away
grab (as in 'grab a bite to eat')

And most of the ones previously mentioned.
