Words that make you cringe

Are there any that make you cringe ? Mine would be:

Lush
Snacky
Yummy

Almost all of the above, except "Going to Rainbow Bridge'' as a dog lover.
Hate 'baby' words spoken to children e.g. burney (hot), woof woof/doggie, nana (banana), brum brum (car).
Really hate adults talking like babies e.g luffs (love), drinkies/drinkiepoos, holibobs etc.
Detest wine/gin o'clock and fizz, bubbles, shampoo.

Just about all previously mentioned plus “girly/girlie/girlies”

Oh god the "rainbow Bridge" is just awful. I feel so embarrassed I'd I see or hear anyone say it.

And everything everybody else has said on this thread.

Cheeky... As in having a cheeky curry, or having a cheeky gin. Argh.

I can't stand any form of baby talk. It's pointless and stupid. Teach your child proper words.

oh god yes how could I have forgotten famalam. Eurgh.

The whole rainbow bridge phrase annoys me. Whenever one of our numerous pets is put down we get an icky card from the vet with a rainbow bridge poem inside. It is of no comfort whatsoever, and annoys me even more because ultimately I know I've PAID for the bloody thing.

Also literally when used incorrectly "I was literally starving" "He was literally frozen"

Hun and babe both set my teeth on edge. As does little man and nom nom.

Guilty as charged: I use “horribly”, “beautifully”, and “lashings of” all the time! I also say gosh, jolly, and horrid. I am actually quite northern and down to earth, I don’t live in an Enid blyton novel or anything.

Worst words in the world: discharge (unless you’re getting out of hospital!); membrane; towelette; panties; tumescent; soiled; globule; pustule; flatulent.

Oh yes, and the word people when used in social media posts to mean "everyone"..."have a great weekend, people"...or worse still, peoples, or peeps !

Irritating: “vino!” Instead of just saying I. Am. Drinking. Wine. Same rational as “cheeky pub lunch” etc.

Posh, just hate it.
Lounge and tea - I’m irish we have sitting rooms and dinner so these don’t make sense to me.
Misuse of I - as in ‘if you need more information contact Anna or I’. This one is the worst, really grates on me.
