Help! I'm stuck in a jumpsuit

Literally this. The zip has jammed and I can't get out of it. I'm home alone with the kids and totally stuck. It's at the back too and i've nearly dislocated my arms.
Ive tried vaseline to lubricate but to no avail. Any ideas?

For future reference, graphite/pencil lead, scraped over and poked into the teeth and the pull bit, will free a stuck zip (discovered this after getting stuck in a very snug, fully zipped up jacket once. . .)

TroubledLichen · 09/05/2018 23:52

Haha amazing thread, glad you’re free. If the jumpsuit is otherwise a winner then take it to cleaners to have the zip replaced with one that isn’t dodgy Grin

Gumpsuit Grin. Now that's genius.

I passed out drunk in a jumpsuit once. I went to the loo in the middle of the night and couldn't work out why I couldn't get out of my pyjamas (I never wear pyjamas!). My husband found me on the bathroom floor doing a homeresque floor spin type thing.
Fortunately it was a stretchy Jersey fabric, so he managed to wrestle me out before I wet myself.

If this had gone on for another day or so we could have nominated it for Classics.

OP "Seriously move over insanity, jumpsuit training is all you need."

I get that you're tired now but seriously, patent that before someone else does.....Grin

CoolCarrie · 10/05/2018 00:13

Glad you are out. Those jumpsuits do look lovely, hope you can sort it out to wear again . Don’t try jumping out of any planes anytime soon though!

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 10/05/2018 00:16

I'm enjoying the thought of returning the jumpsuit to the shop, with the zip covered in vaseline, Wd40, soap and pencils and calmly asking for a refund as 'it's the wrong colour.' Grin

DryHeave · 10/05/2018 00:20

Humming “stuck in a jumpsuit” to the tune of U2 “stuck in a moment”.

LellyMcKelly · 10/05/2018 00:21

This happened to me when I was 7 and my mum dressed me like Lee Majors. I’ve had no truck with jumpsuits since. They’re daft.

OP I thought you meant an "Annaka Rice" jumpsuit.

Just found out that Annaka is Welsh.

POPholditdown · 10/05/2018 02:04

@dontticklethetoad Oh I’m in tears. I’m at work and have to face away from everyone because I won’t be able to explain why I’m crying/can’t breath 😂😂😭

Furano · 10/05/2018 07:01

I got stuck in a nigh necked dress which had very tricky buttons.

Obvs being a dress I could wee but I had to go to bed in it as it was 3am and I didn’t want to wake a housemate.

Butterfly1066 · 10/05/2018 07:15

I'm feeling like I had a lucky escape this morning. The dinner I'm supposed to be wearing it to is pretty much an all male affair and they would have never let me live it down if I'd had to text one of them to come to the toilets to rescue me. Last time I went I was so drunk that I had to tip my drinks into a plant pot so wetting myself could have been a strong possibility.
9 year old DS has no recollection AT ALL of me waking him. He just kept saying 'yeah right mum'. Another bullet dodged.
So the only bad thing is that I'm desperate to put it back on to see if it was a one time thing. Ive been sliding the zip up and down and it feels looser. I have a decorator here that could rescue me and he is gay so won't mind if I flash him some body parts. Far more interested in my husband!

I had to be cut out of a dress in Harvey Nichols' changing room once, neither me or any of the assistants could get the zip to shift.

That was fun.

Trooperslane2 · 10/05/2018 08:43

I HATE YOU OP!

I was looking at that and it's sold out - hordes of mums netters clearly bashing their keyboards in the middle of the night

My Mum also wet herself in a jumpsuit in the 70's - she always warned against them :)

Gumps · 10/05/2018 08:45

I've literally just this second ordered the fun floral print one from Next. It is a complete bargain, even if you have to get someone to fit a new zip Smile
I'm a bit concerned at what I've started though. Hoards of women phoning Deliveroo to help with wardrobe malfunctions?

I never could understand the attraction of jumpsuits! Maybe it is living in Scotland, it means it is a tad nippy when it comes to stripping off for every pee! I guess you would just get used to sitting naked on a club loo, then waiting for your bestie who also has to strip to do a pee!
