In response to one of Trump’s incoherent WITCH HUNT! tweets in the last 12 hours, Rep. Adam Schiff sent this:

Adam Schiff @RepAdamSchiff 12 hrs

Adam Schiff Retweeted Donald J. Trump

Given all the secret meetings with the Russians, the denials, the false statements, and the guilty pleas, your attacks on the Republican, respected, decorated, Vietnam Veteran running the investigation could not be more false, or transparent.

Less than £6,000? That's just a small portion of the new 'ballroom carpet' that they've had to ban IrnBru for. (To preserve its colour etc.)

cozietoesie · 12/05/2018 15:12

In the almost inimitable words of Ms ?Maddow - '500 large'.

That's a great deal of money for a new carpet so I imagine that that particular invoice is receiving the usual scrupulous attention (Grin) from the Scottish tax authorities. (Who will be on their mettle after the IrnBru ban.)

Ho Hum.

A WSJ piece.

Cohen overture rejected by Ford

"It is unclear when.........."

I'll bet it is. Smile

cozietoesie · 12/05/2018 16:00

It's always seemed quite remarkable to me that Mr M managed to keep his team in line for as long as he did, given the circumstances. He must be some leader.

cozietoesie · 12/05/2018 17:57

The bromance with Macron seems a tad.........fragile?

cozietoesie · 12/05/2018 17:59

I'm going to be interested too see who McCain hands the baton to......Smile

cozietoesie · 12/05/2018 18:00

Sorry. to

cozietoesie · 12/05/2018 18:17

Ouch.

AcrossthePond55 · 12/05/2018 18:22

cozie as far as Sen McCain's replacement (when the time does come), you may be interested in this little piece of GOP skullduggery;

And a good block preventing it by Dems

www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/george-bush-donald-trump_uk_5af6b264e4b032b10bfb0305?rz&utm_hp_ref=uk-homepage

'George Bush, who started two major wars both widely seen as disasters, has given Donald Trump a brief lecture on leadership.

Speaking as he received an award from the international think tank, the Atlantic Council, the former US President warned against US isolationism just days after President Trump withdrew from the Iran nuclear deal.'

cozietoesie · 12/05/2018 18:30

Thanks Across. I'll read it properly ASAP. (I sill believe that much will depend on McCain.)

cozietoesie · 12/05/2018 19:49

I've now read it properly.

I've been with people on their deathbeds and they have generally 'withdrawn' from the cares of this world. McCain is an ..........uncommon man, though.

cozietoesie · 12/05/2018 20:16

The Beast has taken a draught of courage potion, Read this while you can. (Anyone else noticed how the name isn't mentioned on polite programmes?)

The 'cousin'

Minimammoth · 12/05/2018 20:35

The link to The Beast article, came with obviously an advert designed just for but entitled, Kill the Root, Kill the weed. Which seemed very appropriate Grin

cozietoesie · 12/05/2018 20:40

I didn't get that ad. Grin

Gumpendorf · 12/05/2018 21:27

Watching the Joy Ann/TRMS link, I'm wondering why these major corporations were caught flat footed by the Cohen revelations. They were interviewed by Mueller last year. Surely they must have realised they might need a good PR strategy at some point. If not at the time, then when Cohen was raided.

I've seen somewhere that Trump has spent the last 30 years gathering dirt on people. Giuliani will also know where some bodies are buried. Forget pardons, this is obviously payoff time.

Isn't it Wed 16th when Trump decides whether he is going to fire be interviewed by Mueller. Given the growing chorus, I'm expecting a no.

Gumpendorf · 12/05/2018 21:35

I suspect one of the things that may be keeping McCain going is a determination to try and do his bit to save the Republic while he can. He's demonstrated his great strength and courage his whole life. The fact the GOP only sees partisan political advantage shows how deeply they are buried in the swamp.

cozietoesie · 12/05/2018 21:41

I think that McCain is made of stern stuff, Gump. I can't second guess what he might try to do, though. Oh - and by the way - Maddow raised the very point you made. ( About big concerns being caught flat footed.)

Thanks, lion. The Vekselberg nexus seems interesting. A lot. Grin

The answer to my other question. Mueller decision put off til after NK in expectation a grateful world will forgive Trump everything afterwards

Also I can't imagine Mueller not wanting to interview Trump 'kids' and Kushner.

I must have forgotten that Maddow bit, cozie.

cozietoesie · 12/05/2018 21:55

I imagine that very little will happen until after the NK 'meeting' - for a variety of reasons.
