To think I’ve Made a total fool of myself haven’t I?

Loveshinealight332 · 05/05/2018 17:07

Went out with my friend today to the seaside.
I hate fairground rides like rollercoasters etc.
My friend begged and pleaded with me to go on.
I hate them so much but I agreed.
Got on this ride which swung up high and to the side then upside down.
I was terrified I was gasping for air, couldn’t breath.
It was the worst feeling ever,my heart started missing beats.
My friend was laughing saying wait till I put this on Facebook.
I’m not exaggerating when I say this was the scariest feeling of my life.
Did I make a total show of myself?

Your friend made a show of herself. Not really a friend from the sound of it. Hope you're OK now. I hate them too.

teaandtoast · 05/05/2018 17:09

I think your friend's made a fool of herself.

KateGrey · 05/05/2018 17:09

Your friend isn’t a friend. They’re horrible!

Mumofkids · 05/05/2018 17:09

I don't think so. They are not a very nice friend in my opinion.

Beaverhurdle · 05/05/2018 17:10

Nah, i cant hack them either

daphneduck · 05/05/2018 17:10

Your friend is a dick

Pebblespony · 05/05/2018 17:11

This only becomes an issue if you let it. I made a total show of myself at the tower of terror in Disneyland. Even had nightmares after it. DH got the picture. We put it on our fridge & had a laugh. These things happen to lots of people. Try not to dwell on it.

Ohyesiam · 05/05/2018 17:11

She filmed you? Some friend.
I don’t think you made a show of yourself, Just make sure it’s the last time you agree to something you know you don’t want to do.

Your friend is being a dick though.

HeyDolly · 05/05/2018 17:12

Your friend is the only one who has come out of that situation badly.

Cottipus · 05/05/2018 17:14

It sounds like your friend is feeling guilty about making you go on and trying to absolve herself by making light of it.

You definitely haven’t made a fool of yourself! What is she going to do, write a status about how scared you were??

PoorYorick · 05/05/2018 17:18

Let her put in on Facebook. She will look a total tool. Own petard and all that.

DPotter · 05/05/2018 17:22

If you don't want your picture on Facebook - she has no right to put it on there. So if she does, ask her to take it down and if she doesn't report it and ask FB to remove it.

Loveshinealight332 · 05/05/2018 17:23

Luckily no video she just means write it on Facebook
I shouldn’t have went on because I knew how scared I was.
What a fool eh

No it doesnt it sounds like her "friend" is delighting in the prospect of being able to humilate her.

If this happened in school with kids it would be called bullying. Because er it is.

For example if a teen was asked to do something they didnt like knew they didnt like by a peer, instead of going ok then the other teen begged and coursed them in to doing it any way, the first teen then had a panic attack just as they said they would, the first teens parents would be so angry if the second teen then put it on social media in order to humilate the first. Of course theyd have every right too.

And so do you op, she didnt listen to you when you said no, she then laugjed at you and told you she couldnt wait to complete the humilation. She is a totally cunt and bully and definately not your friend.

Dont allow her to make you think her behaviour is ok and its your problem

PoorYorick · 05/05/2018 17:24

Written down, it'll lose whatever minimal 'comedy' value it might have had as a picture.

vampirethriller · 05/05/2018 17:25

I hate them. First and last time I went to Alton towers I was 17 and after one ride I stayed at the side and held the bags.
Your friend was cruel.

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 05/05/2018 17:25

Ypu told her you were scared,

She carried on begging you

Your not the fool

IHaveBrilloHair · 05/05/2018 17:26

Your friend is a dick, that's just nasty behaviour from her.

PoorYorick · 05/05/2018 17:27

Small word to the wise, OP - if you ask her not to post this and she says anything about you not being able to 'take a joke', that's clear arsehole code and you can dump and run with a clear conscience.

greenlanes · 05/05/2018 17:29

You're very brave and you did a kind thing for your friend. I cant do rollercoasters - I dont have the courage to take that leap of faith. Because it doesnt affect my daily life I dont care. But you went that extra step.

You certainly havent made a fool of yourself. Your friend has taken her teasing too far.

Gileswithachainsaw · 05/05/2018 17:29

You don't look like a fool at all. Your friend doesn't sound like a friend though.

Rest assured should I see any footage or any comment detailing what you say I certainly wouldn't find it funny. I'd think the person filming was an arsehole .

Hope you are feeling better op Flowers

cheekkatb · 05/05/2018 17:36

Be proud that you had a go.

Topseyt · 05/05/2018 17:40

You didn't make a fool of yourself. She is not a friend. I hate white knuckle fairground or theme park rides too and never enjoyed days out at them.

I occasionally used to allow myself to be pressured into going on these rides when I was younger. I remember really fearing that I would fall out and die. Then I grew a backbone and began saying NO! And meaning it.

SunshineAfterRain · 05/05/2018 17:41

Your friend is mean but try not to worry too much.
I also hate rides and my dd is a daredevil but looks younger than her age.
She begged me to accompany her on a ride.
When I got off I promptly vomited everywhere. It was horrific.
You faced a fear. Be proud of yourself Flowers
