AIBU to ask which series your dh hates for no reasons

Mine hates downton Abbey and Sherlock. Hates it with passion. Nobody knows why.

What do you mean he dislikes it for no reason? Something must be annoying him. Maybe he doesn't want to tell you what it is so as not to ruin it for you.

Mine hates Blackadder, even though he's never actually watched it! He was the same with One Foot in the Grave until he actually sat down and watched it a few times.

Aren’t men just people? Sometimes we don’t like certain programmes, films, bands. Sometimes we dislike things. Each to their own

Radiant, lets just say: strongly, strongly dislikes and does not want to watch. The word hate might be a bit over the top.
Well, he refuses to watch it unless he is really drunk. lol
Why do you think it is irritating?

Hilda, both dh and me strongly dislike Blackadder. No controversy. We are a good match when it comes to this.

Katie Sure, but what I noticed about my husband is that sometimes he dislikes something without having reasons (or without being able to verbalize them) and just says it is stupid and he does not like it.

Why are you asking which series your DH's hate? out of interest... as opposed to which series you hate? Are your DH's opinions of greater weight and relevance?

Pinot, oh, basically for no real reason. I am just awake while everybody else in the house is asleep and a bit bored and somebody else on this board had a thread about downton abbey and well I might be the only women who did not watch the full series because dh refused to watch it with me, because he disliked it so much (while I had to watch pacific rim with him a thousand times). I could have watched it without him but did not feel like it.

He also dislikes Sherlock so much he actually leaves the room... a bit sad... because I enjoy Sherlock a lot. Cannot understand how anybody can dislike it so much.

I won't watch some movies or TV shows without watching them, because I know I won't like them. Like for example, I have zero interest in reality TV shows like towie, so would never watch them.

My boyfriend can't understand this and thinks I should try movies and TV shows before writing them off. But I don't see the problem, I know I won't like it so why bother? Could watch something I will like.

DH dislikes hoarding programmes like hoarders and those ones where a cleaning obsessed person cleans up a really filthy house. He says they upset him; he used to work in this kind of field and I think he can see the issues behind it and worries the cameras are just getting in for a quick bit of sensationalism, exploiting vulnerable people.

He would never stop me from watching anything but I respect his reasons and so tend to watch when I'm on my own.

Dp hates everything I watch and I mostly hate stuff he watches. I hate game of thrones but haven't actually seen a full episode, it's just not my thing

Anything which involves humans or animals giving birth.
All talent shows.
All costume dramas.
Home improvement shows.
Any show with the word ‘celebrity’ in the title.

Fortunately, we agree about most of this list.

I know I wouldn't like call the midwife too or one born every minute. So never watched either. They hold zero interest to me. Hate game of thrones despite having seen very little of it. I refused to watch breaking bad as well as I knew it wouldn't interest me. Ended up being nagged to watch it, guess what? I don't like it. Its not something I'm bothered about watching and sadly had to put up with almost 2 seasons now. He's finally given up making me watch that though thankfully.

Barbaro I think exactly the same as you! Reality TV (like towie etc) is my idea of hell and I have never seen it. Dp went on at me to watch breaking bad until he got bored of it himself. The only series he has made me watch through begging and I have actually enjoyed is The Walking Dead.

Same for me, he made me watch it but I grew to enjoy it. I always give it a try even if I think I might not like it and often I end up liking it or at least thinking it is okay.
