To be really excited because i've just bought a new rotary drier?

I think I have reached peak adulting today.

Saw a Brabantia Rotary drier in Dunelm last week and after umming and aahing over it, have bought it.

I currently have some throws in the wash which will be left out overnight to be darked on. I am that excited! I even love the little peg bag that comes with it.

The only thing that would top this is going to choose a new fridge freezer.

Tell me your peak adulting stories!

We had one of those when we first moved here.
Dd2 was 4yo and she was delighted with the new roundabout in the garden.
We then had a bent rotary drier. Grin

We have have a retractable line.

I've just ordered exactly the same thing with the accessories. Got it on Amazon for £66.
It's £125 in John Lewis!

Omg I just bought that same one last week and kept sitting outside looking at my new rotary drier with a smile on my face. 😂

There is literally nothing left in the house that I can put in the washing machine. I did 5 loads yesterday and another three today. Throws, towels, bedding, cat blankets, school uniform, work clothes, dressing gowns ... it's all been washed, dried and folded. DP has a lot of ironing to get through! However, it all smells lovely and fresh.

Dawn Yes, the little red cap is kept in the peg bag so I don't lose it!

Also realised today that the large umbrella for the garden should fit in the same hole so when I take out the drier I can put the shade up instead.

DP getting a bit bored of my enthusiasm I think. I was lovingly putting it down and putting the little strap round to hold the strings in and he was just eye rolling at me while I was wittering on about it.

He's a man. What the fuck does he know eh?

Oh! Tomorrow we are going out for the day and taking a picnic. We are using my brand new picnic hamper, an actual proper wicker one with leather straps and china plates and cups and actual proper cutlery in it! DP bid for it at a charity auction last year (I may have had my hand over his balls squeezing tightly at the time) for an early birthday present and we've not had a chance to use it yet.

It even has a proper checked tablecloth. :o

Sadly it was a last minute decision so not luxury picnic contents, just sandwiches, crisps and some juice. But still. I shall eat my sandwiches off a plate and enjoy them very much.

I turn 50 next year and almost feel like a grown up now!

I bought a new Panasonic breadmaker when I moved into my present house a year ago. I'm really pleased with it. It looks great. One day soon I'll see if it makes bread.

I bought the exact same one three weeks ago! I will be washing bedding tomorrow and getting it out early enough to dry so I can SLEEP IN FRESHLY LINE DRIED SHEETS tomorrow night. I am SOOO looking forward !

MumW · 05/05/2018 21:55

I know how you feel. Got super excited when I saw this video on folding fitted sheets.

Note to self: Go get a life

NoWittyNamesAvailable · 05/05/2018 21:55

I need one in my life! My dh bought a cheap one a couple of weeks ago, its so tiny it only holds about 1.5 loads. With 2 toddlers and a baby i need a decent sized one, he shall be picking up some overtime i think this month to buy me one 😂

I have washing line envy... our garden is effectively rubble under the grass and it’s impossible to get a ground spike in it. I tried putting my rotary drier in a parasol base but it falls over 🙁

I did buy a fancy new combination microwave today though, so that’s quite grown up!

MycatsaPirate · 06/05/2018 20:57

We need a new microwave. Which one have you got?

Gave my drier a day off and took the picnic hamper out instead. This is DP and DD2 enjoying our lunch.

To be really excited because i've just bought a new rotary drier?

The red cap will hook onto the line so easy to keep track of it!

pumpkintree · 06/05/2018 22:00

@mycat, that hamper basket looks ace. I could imagine a winter run in the car with cake and coffee with that. Newspaper as well.

KentishLady2018 · 07/05/2018 10:12

Ooh! Picnic hamper envy too! We went to an NT place yesterday and loads of people were having picnics while we queued for AGES for the last 2 fruit scones in the cafe! I need a picnic hamper in my life!

We bought a Kenwood microwave from Curry’s. I don’t know why things look so much smaller in the shops though. Got it home and it’s enormous! Thankfully it’s hidden away in the utility room. My words of wisdom - take a tape measure!

MycatsaPirate · 07/05/2018 11:25

The microwave we have is enormous and takes up far too much space.

Considering we only use it for heating up beans and peas, it is far too big for our needs. Plus it's ancient.
