NC so I’m not recognised

Found out today my cousin is going to name their DC (due this year) the same name as my DC2

Thing is this it’s an unusual name, think Phoenix/Asher/Teddy so not a James/Connor/Josh

I understand it’s just a name and everyone has the right to call their DC whatever they want but I’m more than a bit miffed as we’re in the same family Hmm

I know I’ll just have to live with it but AIBU to think he should have avoided using it

And as you've nc'd you can tell us what the name is

BoxsetsAndPopcorn · 06/05/2018 22:20

It's a little weird but so is choosing a name that nobody else has in the county. It's all a bit look at me and how unique I am.

YANBU choosing a name for a child is something that you put a lot of thought into. My DS has a very, very uncommon name, I've only come across one other little boy with his name. We'd disagreed over names for months, and when we finally saw him, we just knew that's what his name would be. So I'd be pretty annoyed if another relative just decided to 'take' his name after we'd spent time choosing it together!

Farah is not a name mad eup by the Op of that thread!

Farah Fawcett Majors? (although maybe she spells it differently)

My brother had an american girlfriend called Farah in the 1980s
