Am I the only one who hates when unemployed people moan that weekend is over

It's just annoying and frustrating.
I work full time and my weekend goes in a flash. Monday mornings are a mad dash between getting ready and doing breakfast club drop off. Finish work and then another mad dash to the school then dds clubs, cooking and tidy up then the bedtime routine it's hard...
Then you get the unemployed who sit and moan about the weekend been over, moaning about the school run or moaning they have so much to do and I think we'll at least you can drop kids off at school at normal time, put on your slouchies to drop off so takes minimal effort, come back and get a cuppa before you do housework etc.

If I get a day off during the week I do the above and it's bloody bliss.
I know I should just ignore and let them get on with it and I know it's none of my business but it's still frustrating all the same.

Do you mean actual unemployed people (unemployment is no picnic and is known to be bad for mental health)? Or is that a code for something else?

Louiselouie0890 · 29/04/2018 19:43

Depends what falls into the category of unemployed. It's a vague area. You could be unemployed but have a hectic life. Are we talking unemployed but could be a carer? Unemployed but sahm? Unemployed but have reasons they're unemployed. It's to much of a grey area for me.

Sunflowerhappy · 29/04/2018 19:44

I'm not judging people who are unemployed and skint btw I've been in that position in the past and it's really awful but I didn't go round complaining to people who work full time how I have so much to do in so little time cause well I had loads of time.
It's people who haven't worked in years through choice who do the school run everyday and moan about how the weekend is over, back to school runs and housework and I think well spare a thought for us working mum's that are up at 6am to get ready for work and the kids are having to be dropped off at 8am and then having to cook clean etc when your knackered from working all day.
Some mum's even say things like oh when I drop little Sammy off I'm going back to bed. They don't have newborns or a job and I just think Angry

It gets on my nerves when somebody with one school age child and no work outside home whines oh there's sooooooooo much to do. It's really annoying. But unemployment is a different thing altogether.

SleepyRoo · 29/04/2018 19:45

I am SAH / unemployed and don't like Monday mornings as it means a week of very little adult company, chores, anxiety about money and loneliness. By contrast my weekends are family-focussed and active.
Try to examine your prejudices.

PoorYorick · 29/04/2018 19:45

It's people who haven't worked in years through choice who do the school run everyday

Again...can you define your terms? 'Unemployed'...?

Dozer · 29/04/2018 19:46

So you don’t mean unemployed people you mean SAHMs? Confused

Angharad07 · 29/04/2018 19:46

And what about the full time mother’s who don’t get a break in the week? Or the single mothers who work with no support? They might feel annoyed at you complaining!

All I’m saying is that of course it’s annoying, but it doesn’t give you the right to decide who’s life is hard enough to complain that the weekend is over.

RochelleGoyle · 29/04/2018 19:46

Yeah, unemployed people don't deserve to have feelings do they? Maybe they miss their kids during the week.

PoorYorick · 29/04/2018 19:46

OP, do you mean SAHPs to school-aged children? Is that what you mean?

Mrsfrumble · 29/04/2018 19:47

Maybe they like spending time with their children and partner, if they have one, and are sad when they go back to school or work? Maybe they find being unemployed depressing but are unable to find work, and the weekends are a small respite?

Although I have my suspicions that you don't actually give a fuck about genuine reasons though OP. I suspect you might have an agenda Hmm

Reel9 · 29/04/2018 19:47

AGREED. When I was employed I used to love when the weekend was over as it was quieter during the week Wink

Ginseng1 · 29/04/2018 19:47

In theory I suppose u right but then maybe they sad all their friends / partners back at work & they on their own n maybe have money & other worries that a busy w/e let's them forget. I know when I was on mat leave I loved the w/es cos Dh was around n we'd usually do something with the kids n have few drinks on a sat night maybe have friends over etc. I guess if someone heard me on mon morning moaning w/e over they could think sure u home all the time what difference in the day of the week!

lavendargreen · 29/04/2018 19:47

I have never heard an 'unemployed' person say 'thank God it's Friday.'

Ever. Hmm

Or is this a bitch at SAHMs and the disabled who cannot work, and people on sick?

The80sweregreat · 29/04/2018 19:47

This won’t go well. Lots of unemployed people want to work. It’s not easy finding gainful employment and being on benefits is soul destroying. Don’t judge too much nobody knows what’s round the corner.

LadyDeadpool · 29/04/2018 19:47

I hate judgy twats personally. Especially ones who start goading threads...

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 29/04/2018 19:48

My cardboard box is smaller than yours.....

PipPupAway · 29/04/2018 19:48

As a sahm I hate when the weekend is over. Back to lonely, monotonous weekdays of feeding and nappy changes and naps.
I do understand where you're coming from though because I was the same when I worked full time. I'm not sure which is personally worse for me Confused

Elementtree · 29/04/2018 19:48

That some fucking chip you have on your shoulder, op!

Rufustheconstantreindeer · 29/04/2018 19:49

dozer

Yeah

She means SAHM

I like the weekends my family are around and everyone is chilled

Highhorse1981 · 29/04/2018 19:49

SAHM here

I love the weekdays generally, I love the weekends generally.

I’m guessing you’d hate me OP!

OutofSyncGirl · 29/04/2018 19:50

Wow, you sound lovely op Hmm 'the unemployed'

People who start threads like this enjoy looking down on other people.

Spudlet · 29/04/2018 19:50

Another SAHM bashing thread... how very original 🙄

PoorYorick · 29/04/2018 19:50

There have been a few goady OPs today sneering at SAHMs. They've mostly got feminine or flowery names, almost as if they're compensating for something.

madhamsters · 29/04/2018 19:50

Personally, I only ever hear, "yes, it's Monday/end of the school holidays! Kids back to school!"

I resent it....only because I'm the teacher that gets their kids on Monday morning! Wink
