For being bitterly disappointed at the language and attitudes of people on MN lately?

I started using MN for support when I was going through hard times, hopefully supporting people when they were going through their hard times, learn new things, catch up with news etc. Lately however every thread I go on seems to be one big fight session. People are either being purposefully nasty or having a go at anyone who disagrees with their opinion - foul language included in the bundle. Is this really what this site is turning in to? Surely everyone is entitled to an opinion and surely if you don't agree and can't be mature about you should follow my mother's advice 'if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all'.

S'ok Beety.

It's not just parp, it's going onto threads and telling people to fuck off, or get a life or something similarly rude.

filthymindedvixen · 14/05/2007 17:51

think I'll parp meself now - so long as no-one gets offended....

AlanThePartridge · 14/05/2007 17:53

We are friends, as much as anyone can be on a forum. I'm not allowed to voice an opinion because of that?

Beetroot it's not Codbashing. Would you call it Dinobashing or GDGBashing if I had said something that they didn't like?

No

And I'm great thanks Mellowma, I'll email you when I get the chance. Hope the move went well.

LittleMouseWithCLogsOn · 14/05/2007 17:55

I didn't mean it in a nasty way, why the Hell would I? Sorry if you took it like that, I was going along with the "they pay me" bit.

I bought a really nice dress/top thing in Primark last week, red with orange flowers on. Sounds horrendous but is lovely over jeans.

ThatBeetroot · 14/05/2007 17:58

yup fio

AlanThePartridge · 14/05/2007 17:58

So was what I just said endless and tedious?

And am I a moron?

heifer · 14/05/2007 17:58

"Not personal, I've said worse and had worse said to me".

That is entirely the kind of post that really does p*ss me off...

So basically you are trying to justify nasty comments by saying that it wasn't personal and that other people had been even nastier..

Think it says more about you than who or what you were slagging off.

Why does a bit of banter have to end up turning nasty just because someone doesn't know how to play the game...

ThatBeetroot · 14/05/2007 17:59

it is enldess and tedious that is always gets back to cod. So unimaginative.

ThatBeetroot · 14/05/2007 17:59

I have not idea if youa re a moron or not

AlanThePartridge · 14/05/2007 18:03

Read the posts, I've said that I'm sorry if it offended Cod.

And it certainly wasn't a case of "CodBashing"

And I wasn't excusing my actions Heifer, because I didn't mean it in a nasty way.

AlanThePartridge · 14/05/2007 18:03

No Beetroot I'm not a moron.

Are you? Sorry

Boco posted a very amusing story about a fox killing a partridge last night and I had to change my name. You can be Alan again if you want, I'm back to Boris.

Boco · 14/05/2007 18:09

Actually there was no fox involved, it was a spontaneous and badly timed death.

It was comforting to see little Alan alive and roaming mumsnet despite his early demise.
