It's tipped to be the new prince's name. I know we're all supposed to love old men's names but Arthur is just too awful.

Come on Kate & Will - you know you want to call him Milo or Ryan. Just do it!

What’s wrong with Tarquin?

calzone · 24/04/2018 16:22

I’m thinking Frederick Henry Phillip.

curiouserand · 24/04/2018 16:22

Ooops - apologise for the errant apostrophe..

curiouserand · 24/04/2018 16:22

Like Tarquin too.

bbpp · 24/04/2018 16:23

Middleton's family seems to have the name Francis running through it, and the feminine Frances is obviously on Will's maternal side. I wonder if that will make an appearance.

HoneyDragon · 24/04/2018 16:23

Aha, David’s not on the short list so I’m stick to my logic here.

Also I have forgotten you’re all not my husband who had this theory explained at length before I bet 20p on it Blush

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 24/04/2018 16:24

It's an old man's name

Names seem to circulate in and out of popularity. A lot of "Old" names are making a comeback. My niece's pre school register is like something from a retirement home what with all the Pearls, Bettys, Stanleys, Arthurs and Elsies.

Do MNHQ award the Mumsnetter who guessed the name right with a prize? A hamper would be nice Grin

SpitefulMidLifeAnimal · 24/04/2018 16:25

Surely they should call the baby Avicii. Out of respect.

x2boys · 24/04/2018 16:26

Prince Michael Philip after Grandad and great Grandad .

hidengosqueak · 24/04/2018 16:27

I want Prince Ricky, or Prince Reggie

FizzyGreenWater · 24/04/2018 16:27

Ooh Francis has to be my least favourite boy name.

FizzyGreenWater · 24/04/2018 16:28

No to Michael - there's already a Prince Michael and nobody wants to be reminded of him!

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 24/04/2018 16:28

I'll take a punt on Oliver.

Blatherskite · 24/04/2018 16:28

I had an ex with a Prince Albert.

Kate's brother is called James so i can't see them going for that.

happypoobum · 24/04/2018 16:28

Ethelred would be nice, it's about time they brought it back.

My money is on Charles.

Mrsmadevans · 24/04/2018 16:29

Charles , Edward , Francis and they will call him Teddy I would love that Smile

Fruitcorner123 · 24/04/2018 16:29

I love the name Arthur so I hope they don't use it. If I use it in the future everyone will think I've just copied the royals.

But I donlnt think they will pick it as it isn't the same sort of name as George and Charlotte. George and Charlotte, despite being traditional are very popular names today. I suspect it will be James or Henry or even Charles

QueenoftheSilverDollar12 · 24/04/2018 16:29

It's definitely Jordan Liam Kyle Dean. Allows them to stay in touch with the commoners innit?

MrsUnderwood · 24/04/2018 16:30

Hail Prince Joffrey, first of his name.

Fruitcorner123 · 24/04/2018 16:30

My niece's pre school register is like something from a retirement home what with all the Pearls, Bettys, Stanleys, Arthurs and Elsies.

So true. My two DDs have the same names as 2 good friends of my grandma"s growing up.

SoMuchToBits · 24/04/2018 16:31

It won't be Oliver, it's seen as an anti-royalist name because of Oliver Cromwell.

Nakedavenger74 · 24/04/2018 16:31

@Kpo58 excellent work. Imagine having to invoke a whole other keyboard when typing ones name. Nightmare when you are ordering a pizza 'well it's an A and and E but stuck together'.

LaurieMarlow · 24/04/2018 16:31

Middleton's family seems to have the name Francis running through it

But Gary is also a Middleton family name. What I wouldn't give for Prince Gary. Grin

ObiJuanKenobi · 24/04/2018 16:31

I was hoping he would would be Prince Rupert like the little bear

SoMuchToBits · 24/04/2018 16:33

If I had to guess, I would say Frederick Michael Philip.
