To think please not Arthur

It's tipped to be the new prince's name. I know we're all supposed to love old men's names but Arthur is just too awful.

Come on Kate & Will - you know you want to call him Milo or Ryan. Just do it!

Oh dear re: two Prince Johns. Maybe not, then which is a shame!

There is already a James - Prince Edward's son. Already a Frederick too. And an Arthur for that matter but he may be distant enough for it not to matter.

SevenStones · 25/04/2018 21:24

Maybe it's taking them so long to announce because they're having much the same conversation as we're having on this thread... Grin

SunwheretheFareyou · 25/04/2018 21:38

Maybe they are on this thread Wink.

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 25/04/2018 21:46

If you are on this thread, please call him Ronald Bilious.

Rumboogie · 25/04/2018 21:47

I think Arthur is lovely. A lot of these older names are coming back and I have met several babies called Arthur over the last two years.

Tequilamockinbird · 25/04/2018 21:48

I'd love them to go for something youneeq, hyphenated would be good too.

Banquo. The prophecy finally comes true.

topsyandtimison · 25/04/2018 21:59

Everyone said Charlotte would be Elizabeth and she wasn't. No one can predict.

VanillaSugar · 25/04/2018 22:00

Is this why the queen wants to plant all those trees Flaskflan? Grin

Flaskfan · 25/04/2018 22:02

She won't need to- Banquo's issue are the rightful heirs forever and ever as nd ever shame no one told Oliver cromwell

SenecaFalls · 25/04/2018 22:04

They could go all out American and call him Spencer. Smile

SaucyJack · 25/04/2018 22:11

Maybe a symbol like the other Prince tequila?

I quite like the battered king 🍤.

Rockhopper81 · 25/04/2018 22:20

I’m not sure, ”traditional, but a bit more sexy” and the Royal Family go together to be honest. And truth be told, I’m not sure they should either! Wink

Plus sexy is subjective - I know of a very (traditionally considered) sexy James, and a lovely (but not really sexy at all) Theo. Smile

NeverEvenBeenToCambridge · 25/04/2018 22:24

I've found my people. Some truly wonderful suggestions here.

AsnoMudo · 25/04/2018 22:27

No matter how awful the name, or how much people say they dislike it, one thing is true for sure ... That within a few years every sado will be naming their kids after it.

Fleetwoodmac2 · 25/04/2018 22:30

Yikes

My son was Arthur for the first 3 hours or his life but I changed my mind. Very glad I did, having read this thread!

LapdanceShoeshine · 25/04/2018 22:43

@Flaskfan

While you're on with Macbeth connections...

Alastair Arthur, formerly known as Prince, who died of exposure after a drunken window fall, was called Earl of Macduff after he stopped being a Prince.

anniegranny · 26/04/2018 00:53

I think Arthur Charles 😊

SapphireSeptember · 26/04/2018 01:58

@GemmaB78
To go with his brother and the date, I REALLY want it to be Draco.....

That would be wicked cool! Grin Prince Draco also goes well with Prince Harry... What should his middle name be?

Also, to all the Jack haters, what's wrong with Jack?

steff13 · 26/04/2018 02:15

I love Alastair.

Shadow666 · 26/04/2018 02:45

I want Richard but I'm thinking it's going to be Henry.

I don't think it will be Arthur as it's too popular right now.

Icanttakemuchmore · 26/04/2018 06:22

I think it'll be Philip Arthur William.. ...

Minisoksmakehardwork · 26/04/2018 06:30

I reckon the baby was going to be called Alfred, Alfie for short but all the furore about Alfie Evans has caused a re-think.

WaxOnFeckOff · 26/04/2018 06:52

They don't shorten George or Charlotte so I don't think it would ever have been Alfie. I also don't think that they would be swayed by what is a relatively short term news story (unfortunately for the family concernedSad). Having said that I don't think it will be Alfred anyway.

Merrykegs · 26/04/2018 07:01

Alfie!

I don't think so Grin
