To ask what color your kitchen is?

We are planning to redecorate the kitchen in a month or so. However, we are stuck with the kitchen counters! Painting the unit doors may be a possibility.

Any ideas for paint colors? As bright as possible? Our appliances are mismatched anyway- we have a silver fridge freezer ans white washer/cooker.

White. Also dark grey counters.

SaucyJack · 24/04/2018 13:47

Look at D-C-Fix before you paint the counters.

Fantastic stuff if it's laid properly.

Black counters. White cupboards a couple of different green shades for the walls. A dark forest green and a pale apple colour.

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 24/04/2018 13:48

Sorry- I meant painting the walls! I'm an idiot...

Cream and black at the moment but it’s coming out. We’re having navy blue units with oak worktops in the new kitchen

I’d like green units but dh said no. There are some lovely colourful kitchens on Pinterest.

Woshambo · 24/04/2018 13:55

We have white but I hate them. Also I tried to make caramel n fell asleep and the tin I was boiling exploded do now white with a bit of caramel?

I've decided I'm redocorating with a gold colour. (Black worktops and white doors) after trying to wash the caramel off and seing the goldy mark it left actually looks really nice.

(I'm putting up new paper not smearing the rest of the caramel in lol)

Previous to this I really wanted a nice bright lime green or perhaps orange. I love bright colours in the kitchen or bathroom I think it subconsciously makes me feel happier while cleaning.

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 24/04/2018 13:59

I like bright colors too.

It's great stuff Radley!

Once it's down, it stays looking fresh for years. You can put hot pans on it, and its throughly washable. I wouldn't recommend cutting directly on it tho.

SaucyJane · 24/04/2018 14:00

Have you ever seen "sliding doors"? The kitchen in her friend's flat is a fabulous shade of blue - the flat opposite me then had theirs done in an identical shade, and I used to perv at it through the window!!

We're just having a new kitchen; it's gloss white, so we are tossing around colours for the glass splashbacks. It's between claret, deep purple (guitar riff) and aqua...

Rufustheconstantreindeer · 24/04/2018 14:00

Aaaahhhhh

FASH84 · 24/04/2018 14:02

We inherited our kitchen when we moved in and can't afford to change units ATM. So we've got white units, wooden work tops, a light/bright turquoisy colour on the walls, with bright red and Chrome accessories, it's a bit fifties retro style.

Rufustheconstantreindeer · 24/04/2018 14:03

Cream units

Oak worktop

Teal walls and lime green accessories

mummyoftvef · 24/04/2018 14:04

Loving that blue!!!

And I'm definitely going to investigate the sticky stuff. If I can change the counters, the wooden doors can stay, and I can paint the walls bright yellow!

My units are pale wood and the counter top the same kind of colour as yours. Then my walls are either tiled white (the hob side - galley kitchen) or turquoise. Then my white goods are grey (old, will go black once they die) and my kettle etc are black

Peachyking000 · 24/04/2018 14:09

Taupe walls, cream painted units, oak floor and worktops, and a few duck-egg blue accessories, eg door knobs and artwork.

Our kitchen is 30 years old and has been painted a lot. We’ve had the best results with Annie Sloan chalk paint, though it needs a lot of care, eg regular waxing

Curious2468 · 24/04/2018 14:09

Black worktops and red units here. I would have never been brave enough if I was having it fitted myself but it was here when we moved in and I love it.

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 24/04/2018 14:09

This is so tempting...
