It sounds like the sort of people use to say (and often still do), if a younger mother dared complain if she was drained - All because 'she knew what she was getting into' when she decided to have a baby, and that 'she knew the dad probably wouldn't stick around, she knew babies aren't dolls'

^The above is no reflection of all or even most young mums! I am one.

Anyway, moving on... Isn't it quite tactless and a bit lacking in compassion to say "She knew what she was getting into!"

I don't know her personally, but Will, and her three children, are just that to her. Not Royal figures for show.

I understand she may be feeling a million dollars, though. I suffered with HG and felt like going to the Ritz after my DC's birth. Sadly, I neglected to pack a dress and was quite disappointed I was going home in leggings and a top Grin

Sorry, but most people have some idea who Peter Phillips is. And Zara. And Sarah Chatto.

Although...I think it’s so self-evident that the members of a hereditary royal family haven’t been given a choice in the matter, it’s absurd for me to argue the toss. Of course they haven’t. Personally, I don’t think that’s OK...for them or anyone else. And that’s, personally, the biggest problem I have with it.

ILikeMyChickenFried · 24/04/2018 12:07

I wonder how many of them would give up their wealth in exchange for complete privacy, working 40 hrs a week and a 3 bed semi though. We're saying that this isn't a possible scenario, but in fantasy land? I'm not sure many of them would happily give it all up.

LaurieMarlow · 24/04/2018 12:08

Zara yes. No fucking idea who Sarah Chatto is and I'm not totally disinterested in the royals.

ILikeMyChickenFried · 24/04/2018 12:10

I know her name but I couldn't tell you what she looked like, or Peter Phillips and his wife and none of the more minor royals.

Thebirthdayparty · 24/04/2018 12:11

I’ve no idea who this Sarah woman is either and I wouldn’t recognise Peter Phillips either or indeed any of the other grandchildren in the family portrait with the queen.

FizzyGreenWater · 24/04/2018 12:12

These threads are so weird. Nobody on here knows this woman or has any idea how she feels about her life and her choices.

SunwheretheFareyou · 24/04/2018 12:16

Surely it's easier to be out of the public eye if your not in direct succession to the throne. Ann chose to keep her dc low key and no titles. She had kidnap attempt on her life. Her perspective must be very different in general. Ann was very disparaging about Royal well wishers at the church walk thing!

One would have though mummy drummed onto her, it's a those well wishers that bloody well pay for her!!

harshbuttrue1980 · 24/04/2018 12:17

I can't believe her vanity - what other woman has a stylist coming in to see her when she's about to give birth?? And why would having three children be hard work for her? She has a live-in nanny and housekeeper to do the grunt work for her, as well as George being at school and Charlotte being put into full-time nursery.

marchin1984 · 24/04/2018 12:18

I'm not sure many of them would happily give it all up.

free money from a fawning population? I'd say few people would give that up.

I don't blame them. If the people dumped a truckload of money in my bank account every year I wouldn't give it up either.

MidnightAura · 24/04/2018 12:19

I can't say I feel sorry for her. Her birth experience will be worlds apart from the average woman and while she may have to get her hair and make up done for a few photos when she goes home, she has all The staff she needs. She doesn't have to worry about looking after the older two whilst juggling a new born. I'll save my sympathy for the average mum who doesn't have nannies, butlers and an entourage of staff to keep them looking amazing, do childcare and the house work for them.

harshbuttrue1980 · 24/04/2018 12:20

ILikemyChickenFried - do you really think the reason why we don't see pictures of Kate taking her children to school is because the press don't take the pictures??? cough - full-time nanny - cough

Namechange128 · 24/04/2018 12:20

No money worries, a husband who can be around a lot instead of off earning all day while you are
home with the kids, a £250,000 a year nanny and able to have her family around all the time? I'd happily stand in maternity pads and heels for a few minutes in front of the press for that.

HadronCollider · 24/04/2018 12:25

The nanny makes £250,000 a year? I thought both G and C were in nursery/school? For that I'd expect her to be octo-lingual including Mandarin, Bengali, and Swahili.

Namechange128 · 24/04/2018 12:33

Yes she does! And that's only ONE of the nannies 😮www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.netmums.com/child/the-duke-and-duchess-of-cambridge-hire-new-super-nanny-reports-reveal.amp

This is why I have no patience with so much of the 'poor Kate' stuff that comes on here, she lives a tremendously different and well cushioned life. First time around they also went on an overseas beach holiday for a week leaving their 8 or 9 month old home with her mum and the nanny - again, people do this, and it's all fine, but she's not exactly struggling through exhausted after night feeding!

SerenDippitty · 24/04/2018 12:48

Kate and William seemed to be exempt from the normal workload of working Royals even before she announced she was expecting No 3.

LaurieMarlow · 24/04/2018 12:52

Sweet Jesus, that nanny has an impressive C.V. Shock

HadronCollider · 24/04/2018 12:55

Where's her CV?

LaurieMarlow · 24/04/2018 12:58

What's mentioned in the article.

HadronCollider · 24/04/2018 13:01

Ahhh I see it. She’s fluent in six languages and will speak to the children in French and Spanish, as well as using her skills as a qualified child behavioural specialist to help Kate and William deal with tantrums and other issues'

The source also spoke about the nanny's many skills will come into play in her new role

She’s also proficient in art therapy, equestrian skills and even paediatric dietetics, so she’ll ensure the children and well-balanced and have a varied list of hobbies and interests.

The new nanny will accompany the family on their trips away and will also be in charge of the children when Will and Kate are away, said the source

BestBeforeYesterday · 24/04/2018 13:16

My mind boggles when I hear people say they'd swap with her. Compared to other rich, privileged people, her life must be shit, zero freedom. If you want her money and lifestyle, save your envy for someone who's rich but free. There are plenty of rich women who can give birth in the Lindo wing and don't have to stand on the steps a couple of hours afterwards.

SerenDippitty · 24/04/2018 13:26

It seems to me she has a great deal of freedom from Royal duties compared with other Royals. I can't help feeling that may have been part of the deal she struck - that she had no intention of being a "working Royal".

Aeroflotgirl · 24/04/2018 13:29

That is nasty, she is still human, and entitled to not like the press attention, duties etc.

RoadToRivendell · 24/04/2018 13:31

I find the notion of the Duchess courting pubic sympathy absolutely baffling.

I expect her most fervent wish is to stay out of the press as much possible, so that she's free to enjoy her incredibly charmed life with her friends and family.

SaucyJack · 24/04/2018 13:46

Awesome type Rivendell!
