To ask what do your DCs do that gives you the rage?

Mine is small but it drives me up the wall.

DS who is 3 pokes my face or eye when he wants my attention or to show me something.

It goes something like mummyyyyyy >poke< >poke< mummy mummmyyyy >poke<

It makes me scream on the inside.

Anyone want to share theirs?

DD shouts 'wait' to get my attention before starting any sentence. DS always sticks the nozzle of the ketchup in his food before squeezing. Both small things but highly irritating.

Puts empty bottles back in the fridge.
Leaves every draw and cupboard he has been in just not quite shut.
Leaves the top off the toothpaste.
Wees on the seat.
Puts his dirty clothes next to the washing basket.
Cracks his knuckles.
Shall I go on...

refusing to go to bed,
refusing to work on spellings
pretending they don't like some food that they liked two days ago.

Basically not doing something I have told them to do.

Uncanny ability since he first began walking to consistently bump into me, placing his heel on the top of my foot, and somehow exerting enough dragging pressure to make me yelp.

Dirty socks down side of bed.

Other than that he's a delight!

Fight with each other.

If he wakes up in the night or when he wakes up in the morning He shouts

"MOMMYYY"

like he's American and somehow sounds like e-a at the end of it..have no idea why he says it like this as he says mummy perfectly fine

But whenever I hear that now I just want to scream 😂

Go out to the garden in their bare feet, realize their feet are wet so take off their socks and just drop them in the garden 🤬 I found 6 yesterday.

Forget to flush the toilet 🤢

Leave the wee bits that you tear off the tube yoghurts lying everywhere.

As soon as it's bedtime, Suddenly become starving hungry / dehydrated / ready to have a deep and meaningful chat. Refuses to frigging sleep

I know how it feels to be poked all the time too, especially when I’m trying to sleep, they poke me just to make sure I’m still awake. Oh yes and pretty much anything they do at the dinning table

Seems completely unaware of my feet so that she walks over them regularly. Connected to this is her inability to understand "excuse me" and to just take a step forwards but still be right under my feet. It's like when a cat is round your ankles trying to trip you up only she's a 4 yo child!

My ds has THE loudest cry I have ever heard, and it goes right through me! He also has the actions to match- the head flings back, the arms go out....total drama llama.

When they tug on the end of my dressing gown tie. Even worse if they pull it the whole way out. I think they just can’t leave something dangling but not tug at it. It makes me so so angry. So angry. I’m angry thinking about it.

Leaves clothes in the front room. It’s like his personal dressing space! I have discovered he hates the microwave door being left open so retaliate by doing this on purpose. It’s like a little silent war where nobody wins

dc1: Forgets that I might need my car when he has borrowed it, then decides to go on somewhere else rather than checking if I need it
dc3: drinks from the OJ carton rather than putting it into a glass
dc3: stores all her clothes on the floor, along with gawd knows what other rubbish
dc1: leaves everything to the last minute... incl important things like leaving the house for work

Can you tell dc2 isn't living at home at the moment?

They're lovely really though.

DS1 - puts a bottle back in the fridge with a drop of juice/milk in it and says "I'M SAVING IT FOR LATER!" when challenged on it.
DS2 - doesn't seem to be able to switch off lights when he leaves a room. I literally spend 10 minutes every night going round switching lights/lamps off.

when they make each other angry/upset on purpose and then pretend to be little angels. And lately my oldest assumes she's allowed to do anything, I tell her to do some chores or that we're going out in a bit and she replies with I can't I'm meeting up with so and so. Understanably she's old enough to make some of her own decisions now but that doesnt mean disappearing off whenever she feels like it. Other than that and a few other things they're pretty great kids

Leave pants tangled inside trousers that are in the wash
Pockets full of rubbish of trousers in the wash
Screwed up socks in the wash
(Obvs I did plenty of laundry today!!)

Gang up on me - when one gets told off at the table they eye roll and snigger at each other at my ridiculousness - this gives me instant rage as I'm already pretty pissed off by whatever it is that I have told them off for in the first place.

Insist on taking the scenic route rather than the shorter way home then two minutes later complains of being tired and wanting to be home. Every time.

Follow me. I can't stand being followed everywhere!!

Walk right in front of me. Doesn't matter how wide the footpath/hallway/staircase is, they walk right in front of me and slooowly!

It sounds ridiculous but my DS who is nearly 4 literally moves his 4 month old sister from wherever I’ve put her down as soon as my back is turned 😂 He knows not to pick her up on his own but he can move her baby seat quite easily and he’ll move her into another room or out into the garden so they can ‘play together’. It’s lovely that he likes her so much, but dear god it nearly gives me a heart attack when I turn around and she’s gone.

Ds, 7, just can't see a button without pressing it or a handle without pulling it. He takes things apart to see how they work which is all well and good if it's something like a clicky pen but not quite so good when he somehow manages to hold of a screwdriver, unscrews the door handle and then traps himself in his room...

Socks everywhere, constantly treading on my feet, pants left in trousers, leaving clothes in the bathroom, getting in the shower and forgetting his towel so leaving a trail of water in the landing, leaving little bits of drink in a cap so the baby picks it up and spills it. I could go on but I might fill up the thread.
