To think Katie Price should have finished more of the marathon?

She was running it for her mum who is dying of a lung disease.
She only walked for 6 miles and then bailed. People saw her going straight to a restaurant afterwards so it’s not as if she needed urgent medical help.

I get that she had a sore knee and it was a hot day but I think it’s bad for her fans who sponsored her and she could only manage 6 miles. She fully admits she did no training for it either

I couldn't care a hoot if she gave up, what annoys me is why does she get a
Place to run the London marathon and doesn't bother to train for it - she shouldn't take a place for somebody who puts the effort in beforehand to try to do a good job

Poor show on Katie imo

Frosty66612 · 23/04/2018 15:00

I think she should have trained more

mydogisthebest · 23/04/2018 15:11

She is pathetic. Walked 6 miles!!! Wow I can walk further than that with my dog.

Yes it was a warm day but she WALKED. She didn't run did she? I know people that actually managed to run and finish the marathon yesterday.

I really wish she would disappear somewhere and shut up

AgathaF · 23/04/2018 15:15

Why is it any of your business?

allthoseyears · 23/04/2018 15:17

Wow she’s got you all talking about her. Clever girl!

Tobebythesea · 23/04/2018 15:18

I believe charities can apply for additional VIP places under certain conditions ie if the celeb agrees to do publicly

Oblomov18 · 23/04/2018 15:20

Why didn't she train? Again?
People are desperate for a marathon place, and it's insulting to them.

MrsMollyMooMoo · 23/04/2018 15:26

This is clearly an anti Katie Price post. There is no way you’d say that about a non celeb person doing it.

frasier · 23/04/2018 15:30

Of course it’s not insulting. She’s given more publicity to the marathon than many others.

frasier · 23/04/2018 15:33

Yay!

BlancheM · 23/04/2018 15:33

She couldn't possibly have committed to any training as she's been in recovery for various cosmetic operations. She could easily afford to make a bigger donation than the amount she's raised. What a fool.

ilovewelshrarebit123 · 23/04/2018 15:39

My mum has the same illness as Katie's mum, she's dying and is in a very poorly state.

I give her credit for even attempting a marathon in the heat, with little training and the stress of her mum being so ill.

Thing is everything Katie does gets picked apart doesn't it. But she tried and well done for that.

VioletCharlotte · 23/04/2018 15:41

It wasn't even that hot in London yesterday! I've got a friend who ran the Madrid marathon yesterday, it was much hotter in Spain than it was here. Challenging to run in, but not to walk. I walk 6 miles most Saturdays with my dog.

Frosty66612 · 23/04/2018 15:44

I walk 6 miles everyday (3 miles to and from work). It’s not even particularly far

qwertyuiopy · 23/04/2018 15:48

How much money do you raise for others when you do it Frosty?

mummabubs · 23/04/2018 15:52

Have to say openly that I'm not the biggest KP fan... I signed up to a "walk a marathon" event a few years ago with a friend for charity. We did very little training and managed to walk 26.3 miles on an equally hot day in just under 9 hours and that was cross country with big hills. Yes it was bloody hard and yes we wanted to give up, but we didn't want to let the people who'd donated money down. I needed medical attention for my feet the next day (bad choice of shoes on my part!!) so that wasn't sensible but I do think it's mind over matter. People wouldn't have minded if she'd walked the whole thing, that's still a huge achievement in itself. As others have suggested I suspect she got the publicity she wanted and that was enough for her.

And I was also really saddened to hear about Matt from Masterchef, such a tragedy.

Frosty66612 · 23/04/2018 15:54

@qwerty I’ve done many sponsorerd walks for charity!

qwertyuiopy · 23/04/2018 15:55

Of course you have 🙄

qwertyuiopy · 23/04/2018 15:56

Loads of them. That’s why you chose your walk to work to make a bullying comment about 🙄

maxthemartian · 23/04/2018 15:57

@qwerty are you Katie Price?
Six miles is nothing, it's a really feeble effort.

Frosty66612 · 23/04/2018 15:58

? I was making the reference to my walk to work because it’s the same distance as what she walked. Love that the word “bully” gets thrown around on this forum so often

Lalliella · 23/04/2018 15:59

Your post is really judgemental. Have you ever tried running a marathon? I’m sure if my mum was terminally ill I’d rather spend time with her than spend time training. She raised money and awareness for her cause, so good for her I say.
