....asks someone to remove Kay Burley or at least lob a shoe at her head from her labour suite?

OP posts:
SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 23/04/2018 14:32

Would love to know what you ladies who had natural deliveries think. Would you have been able to stroll outside, holding new baby, within about 5 hours of delivery?

Yes...I was absolutely fine immediately afterwards each time. I was very lucky to have births that went so well.

SporkInTheToaster · 23/04/2018 14:32

Could I have stood for a short pap session? With my third, yes. The others were more complicated and I would’ve needed a bit longer to recover to reduce risk of fainting etc.

Astrabees · 23/04/2018 14:32

Yes, I was up and about doing usual things a few hours after DS2 was born (born at home) I certainly remember cooking dinner that evening. I looked a bit bloated and blotchy though so would not have wanted to be in the press!

MrsJayy · 23/04/2018 14:33

She certainly won't be cooking the Tea tonight Grin

DeathDestroyerOfWorlds · 23/04/2018 14:35

With my 2nd child, I could have walked out 5 hours later yes, but not the first or the third. With first, I had extensive episiotomy and tons of stitches. I could barely walk for ages. After third (9lb) no tears or stitches but I felt very faint with blood loss so would not have been able to manage getting up and about so soon, no

Rudgie47 · 23/04/2018 14:37

Its a miracle that she could bring herself to sleep with William in the first place. Hes very unattractive. For all the money in the world I still dont know how she managed it.

Chattycat78 · 23/04/2018 14:37

I wonder if the royals breastfeed? I’m guessing that if they do, they just get the nanny to bring the baby to them and then take them away again afterwards so they can sleep. Imagine that!

Dobby1sAFreeElf · 23/04/2018 14:41

Baby Gary!

I was hoping for Dave, but Gary is even better.

Her stylist has already been in and left apparently. I have told DH that he clearly didn't get me the proper post care support in Grin

I still wouldn't have wanted to stand there though so sooner afterwards.

Doilooklikeatourist · 23/04/2018 14:45

I walked out of hospital when DC2 was just about 2 hours old
I never wear high heels though , I wore a big floppy dress and flip flops

Always happy to hear of a new baby 😀

I've never given birth (though I do know how it works, of course) - but I have to ask - HOW does anyone do that?

MorningsEleven · 23/04/2018 14:50

I was hoping for a Brian. Prince Brian. Brian Cambridge.

Sonotcivil · 23/04/2018 14:53

0.65 x 65.64 million = 42 million pounds.
Then all the extra money spent on top for security such as the wedding coming up.

Would find it funny if someone did say they can receive no more money as it's the third child though GrinGrin

However do wish them well

IAmMatty · 23/04/2018 14:56

How is it good news to anyone except them @Bluelady? The idea of giving a shit is beyond me.

yorkshireyummymummy · 23/04/2018 14:57

When Diana had William she waddled out of the hospital as if she had a giant pad on and she got into the car oh so gingerly ( episiotomy I think) and wore a maternity dress she had worn a few weeks before. I think she looked at the pictures of herself leaving the hospital and thought ‘ fuck! I look awful !’ When she had Harry she had her hairdresser come , had a smashing new bright red outfit and she looked bloody fab!
Sophie Wessex almost died having Louise after a placental abruption. The staff at fFrimley Park hospital ( NHS) saved hers and the babies lives. James her son is a IVF baby so not all royal brides have problem free births. I believe it’s rumoured the Queen Mother had to have early fertilitytreatment in order to fall pregnant and I’m pretty sure she had a csection too.
I think it’s lovely they have another healthy baby and I think they are very normal loving parents who try hard to ensure their kids have as normal a childhood as they can considering that William and Kate know that their children are targets for terrorists and nutters every single day of their lives.

Charolais · 23/04/2018 14:57

I’m a Brit living in the US and when Prince William was born the women at work for some reason thought I was ‘in-the-know’ with all things Royal and asked me if I had any idea what the new baby prince would be named and I told them, very convincingly, Rodger.

MollyCule · 23/04/2018 14:58

I really couldn't have done it. I hadn't slept for 2 nights when DD was born. I had an epidural and forceps (and episiotomy). My face swelled from pushing so hard and I burst blood vessels in my eyes. I looked and felt absolutely shit.

I remember saying to my midwife "how does Kate do it? I can't walk properly several days later". My MW reckoned they give her something (no idea what that would be) but maybe I'm just not built very well for giving birth! Hopefully things will go better if I go for round 2, fingers crossed!

BertrandRussell · 23/04/2018 14:59

The problem is there is acompetitive " feeling crapper than you post birth" vibe on Mumsnet-only beaten by the "bf hurt me more than it hurt you" vibe. Grin. I would hate to be a first time pregnant woman on here, I really would. Yes, some women have an awful time, and are really ill. But most don't. Most women I know who have had uncomplicated vaginal births (which Mrs Cambridge seems to have - helped by there being 101 incredibly experienced HCPs in attendance) could do what she does. Which really amounts to getting dressed helped by several maids, standing still for 5 minutes, waving a bit, walking 10 yards then getting in a car and being driven to her bed and more staff.

IAmMatty · 23/04/2018 15:03

Crikey @Mrsmadevans are you quite alright??
Confused

JessicaJonesJacket · 23/04/2018 15:04

I could have done it 5 hours after giving birth. I had an easy labour and was on such a high! I even did my hair and make-up for visiting. . .But, a few days later, at home, was a completely different issue - a combination of stitches, piles, lack of sleep - I was a crying wreck. So I figure the closer to the birth the better, for my photo ops. Grin

Loyaultemelie · 23/04/2018 15:04

A few hours after dd2 yes probably although the bleeding would have been a worry definitely no white dress but with a make up team and stylist I'd have looked fine (odd as I'm a jeans and rarely wear makeup but you know what I mean Grin)The next day he'll no I think I might still have been high as a kite. Dd1 was an emcs and preemie so very unroyal.

Loyaultemelie · 23/04/2018 15:06

Hell not he'll autocorrect hates me

BertrandRussell · 23/04/2018 15:08

As an aside-I do love "safely delivered of a son" . I'm glad they still put it like that!

CaptainCardamom · 23/04/2018 15:14

Gary :o

I really wish Kate, and anyone in her situation, would come out in trackies and trainers and a pony tail (if she has to at all). After all they could be luxuriously nice trackies, she could have her make up done and look lovely, but still comfortable. I hate the thought of her getting into a silk dress and heels... so miserable and it's really not helpful to new mums in general to engineer that perfection for public view. Of course maybe she wants to and it's up to her but... it would be fabulous of her to do a comfy look instead.

laelti · 23/04/2018 15:14

I do not understand the media obsession - BBC kept going to a woman stood outside the hospital on the 1 o'clock news and she just had about 3 facts to repeat mindlessly. Not really top news story worthy...

I was walking around the ward within hours of giving birth, so with a bit of styling could probably have stood on some steps for a bit for a picture. Wouldn't have wanted to though, so I do feel a bit for her.

GabsAlot · 23/04/2018 15:16

shes a viper just how they protrayed her on newzoids
