People walking their dogs early in the morning

All winter in the dark and cold I've been walking my dogs in the woods close by. All winter I met ONE person (plus some creepy, silent, hooded figure - I didn't go down that path again)

Now it's light in the mornings I meet so many people. I feel they didn't put the hard slog in over the winter so they shouldn't be allowed to spoil my solitude and enjoyment of these beautiful mornings...

Of course I know it is unreasonable to feel this way really Blush

i'm not being funny or anything, but if no one is doing anything to you what rights have you got to complain?just because not many people went out in the winter, now my guess is that you are one of them people that like to moan.at anything,i'll bet if each person you see gave you £20 each you wouldn't moan then.

Whilst YABU, I too am BU because I go to the country park next to our house almost every day, rain or shine, and I feel the same. We take our walk there whether it’s raining or snowing or gale force winds. Summer comes and every git is over there, hogging the lawn and the tea room. Fair weather bastards.

I don’t like sharing public swimming pools but I have to suck it up! I wouldn’t recommend sucking that up. Have you seen the disgusting things people do in pools. You’re going to need a good mouth wash and antibiotics after that. 🤢

Sorry but you have really made me laugh @Suggs44 Grin Whole thread is obviously tongue in cheek. Would love to have seen the deleted comment!

Haven't RTFT (Is that illegal when you're the OP ..!?) but thanks for the understanding and support.

I didn't mean to insinuate that people weren't walking their dogs in the winter, just that they were lucky enough not to have to brave hooded, cloaked (scythe bearing!? Wink ) figures and corpses Shock in the dark.

bet if each person you see gave you £20 each you wouldn't moan then if each fair weather walker gave me £20, I’d save it, buy the park, then lock the fuckers out.

My dog doesn't do dark/strong wind/rain or extreme cold. In his defence he is a rescue who had to learn about going for walks later in life and doesn't really see the point. Doesn't go off lead though.
Nothing more annoying than putting on my coat, wellies, hat and gloves then getting outside and finding the dog refuses to walk. I sometimes envy people striding out in the rain with their dog.

I am just generally irritated by more people out and about at 7am when I leave the house so I do see where you are coming from!

When I lived in the odd, unfriendly place, I was sahm, decided to run while husband was getting ready for work.

Only people running were gawking men! After dh went to work, wives came out.

Never tried it again. But I did hire a dog walking boy down the street for winter and bad weather. Guess I'm not allowed out now either?

Ginandpanic · 25/04/2018 07:39

Totally agree. How very dare they. We have the same issue, people walking in OUR woods. The audacity!

Teacher22 · 25/04/2018 10:20

People who are not dog owners or dog fans will be thinking exactly the same about you but politely not mentioning it.

Last night I met a group of lovely ladies, all dog fans, who spent half an hour telling 'hilarious' stories about how their own canines and the dogs of others inconvenienced, menaced and made the lives of their firends, relatives and neighbours a misery. The host's dog, a nice enough thing, jumped up on the sofa next to me and was allowed to stay with some indulgent, 'naughty boy' type comments. No attempt was made to remove it even though I am highly allergic to dogs.

Wisdens · 25/04/2018 10:36

Blimey some people are easily affronted!

Just a question Teacher. If you’re highly allergic to dogs, why go to a house where the host has a dog?

Teacher22 · 25/04/2018 11:04

Wisdens, everyone has a dog! Or so it seems.

MaMisled · 25/04/2018 11:22

Bloody fair weather walkers. I hate them. I totally agree with you op.

celticprincess · 25/04/2018 18:02

At least they’re walking their dogs. Where I live the summer and early mornings means dogs barking in the street. One starts and they all go. No one seems to walk them. They spend their time in the back yards barkin when anyone walks past. Seems to start at 5am.

Maybe these other dog walkers did walk later in the day in the winter or in a different place. I’d feel happier in the woods in the summer light mornings and evenings than in winter.

PositivelyPERF · 25/04/2018 18:18

I was out earlier and wanted to throw a stick for the dog, but I couldn’t find any. I think they were lost up a few backsides 😉
