To ask for a bit of company?

DP is away (not the first time this year) for work for the week.

I'm on my own with DDog, DS1 (3yo) and DS2 (5mo).
Bedtime is a bit of a battle as I'm juggling 2 and it gets to this time and I've nothing to do with myself and end up considering just going to bed but I know I won't sleep...

It also doesn't help that for some reason I'm feeling a bit unsettled tonight and checking all the doors and locks and jumping at every noise.

AIBU to ask for a bit of company from you mumsnetters?

Hi 👋 I am alone - Navy wife Smile

Idontdowindows · 22/04/2018 21:37

Hello lovely! I know how you feel, much as I can usually entertain myself, sometimes you just look around you in the living room and think "well bugger, nothing to do :("

Do you like playing online games or the like? I usually do my go-to game The Sims and build my perfect home. ;)

Samantha77hat · 22/04/2018 21:37

Lol @ Ddog!

TrudeauGirl · 22/04/2018 21:38

I can't sleep so I'll be up to give you company :-)

Thinkingofausername1 · 22/04/2018 21:39

Hi👋
It's strange the first couple of nights, but by mid week; you actually enjoy having the time to watch what you like on tv etc! Smile

Idontdowindows · 22/04/2018 21:39

Ooo Thinking or just not having the bastard thing on :D

Himself uses it as wallpaper and I can't stand telly.

TrudeauGirl · 22/04/2018 21:42

I house sit for my stepsister on my own in a big house. I snuggle up in the sofa cuddling their dog for security whike watching tv.

The dog is a soft as anything climbed spaniel so probably not the best guard dog but it helps Grin

AudTheDeepMinded · 22/04/2018 21:42

Hello! I'm supposed to be working (upstairs on a laptop, it's an enforced loneliness). I'd rather be downstairs with DH! What about some boxsets on the telly box? We love 'Catastrophe'!

TrudeauGirl · 22/04/2018 21:42

Clumber not climber

TinselAngel · 22/04/2018 21:43

You need a box set to watch an episode or two of every night and possibly have a beer. Have you watched The Sopranos?

VladmirsPoutine · 22/04/2018 21:45

As long as you never use the term 'DDog' I' happy to sit up with you.

What did you all get up to today? I was caught drinking wine.

lonelytigger · 22/04/2018 21:45

Hi everyone!

I don't really enjoy watching TV at the moment and I'm constantly on alert in case DS2 wakes up for a feed (EBF). He's up on average every 2 hours so not great.

DDog is currently claiming the bigger sofa to snooze on and I'm on the small one mumsnetting.

I'm having an internal battle to stop myself binging on the garlic bread in the freezer ( I am fully capable of eating the whole thing on my own)

lonelytigger · 22/04/2018 21:48

@VladmirsPoutine what should I use instead of DDog? I find it accurate Grin

Well DP was here until nearly 3 so we went out for a late breakfast and then to a local ice cream place for coffee and you guessed it ice cream.
Since then it's just been me and DCs.

TrudeauGirl · 22/04/2018 21:49

If you've got whipped cream, make yourself a posh hot chocolate with cream. Random but it's fun when you have spare time.

frasier · 22/04/2018 21:52

Move away from the freezer, move away from the freezer!

On my own here too, DH working away for a couple of days. I've written two important emails that were earmarked to be sent tomorrow (go me!) and can't get ahead on my third task as it involves phoning the school which I can't do until there is someone there.

VladmirsPoutine · 22/04/2018 21:53

You should just say 'the dog'. I once nearly got banned from lambasting a poster that used the term 'DFish' and another time a poster used 'DHampster' and I lost my shit Grin

S0upertrooper · 22/04/2018 21:55

Crack out 'Keeping Faith' on the iplayer to go with your garlic bread-it's the future!

Treaclepie19 · 22/04/2018 21:55

Eat the garlic bread!
I have the opposite problem (husband and 2.5 year old upstairs in our bed and I'm about to go up) but when im alone I get the same.

TrudeauGirl · 22/04/2018 21:55

another time a poster used 'DHampster' and I lost my shit

I almost got stung by a Dbee today though

Treaclepie19 · 22/04/2018 21:56

VladmirsPoutine 'DHampster' made me laugh far more than it should have.

SoftlyCatchyMonkey1 · 22/04/2018 21:57

What breed of dog do you have OP?

lonelytigger · 22/04/2018 21:58

Lol at the rage about DHamster Grin

I've put the oven on to heat it but trying to convince myself to switch it off before it's too late the garlic bread comes out of the freezer.... I'm also currently drinking Schloer out of a wine glass because I'm sophisticated like that Wine

Hello there, I am in company but husband is in a bad mood with something work or technology related and we're meant to be watching last episode of Travelers (Netflix, it's good), but he's not ready yet Hmm

I've had to take painkillers though so I'm quite relaxed!

I don't have D pets, I have Bcats but B is for Bloody or Bastard lol
The fish are just... Well, fish. I don't like fish. I don't like cleaning the tank or filter or anything that involves putting my hands near them. The other day I lifted out the model castle to clean it and one the buggers was attached to it, I screamed... Blush
They are DS2's fish and I am patiently waiting for them all to die. It is taking far too long... How long do fish live?!

lonelytigger · 22/04/2018 22:00

@SoftlyCatchyMonkey1 she's a cockapoodle so her potential as a guard dog is probably around -2 out of 10.

She had to gather herself up for a good 5 mins today before she decided to chase away the sparrows that landed in our garden earlier today...

DSparrows Grin
