To ask for a bit of company?

DP is away (not the first time this year) for work for the week.

I'm on my own with DDog, DS1 (3yo) and DS2 (5mo).
Bedtime is a bit of a battle as I'm juggling 2 and it gets to this time and I've nothing to do with myself and end up considering just going to bed but I know I won't sleep...

It also doesn't help that for some reason I'm feeling a bit unsettled tonight and checking all the doors and locks and jumping at every noise.

AIBU to ask for a bit of company from you mumsnetters?

Once they get a bit older the wine will be all yours. Are you exclusively BF the little one? Even so a glass of wine here or there isn't a crime. That said, I'm of the opinion that its either you drink properly or don't drink at all so a small glass is bullshit Grin

lonelytigger · 22/04/2018 22:13

Sorry @frasier you're right *Dsparrows

@VladmirsPoutine yep I'm EBF and he's one of the chunkiest babies ever. I'm not really a fan of wine TBH I'm like a little kid and Schloer and Appletiser are my "fancy" beverages of choice Grin
I only drink very occasionally.

I have Dguppies and Dcats. Dguppies are not very talkative though :D

LashingsOfHamAndGingerBeer · 22/04/2018 22:27

Ooh can second Keeping Faith - just bingewatched the whole 8 episodes last night and this morning!

VladmirsPoutine · 22/04/2018 22:34

Is the little one showing signs of wanting to eat bits of your food? I don't know what it is but babies under 12 months are just the most amazing specimens of humans.

You should come drinking with me OP! By the end of the night you'll be a wine addict! Wine

Morning everyone, I went upstairs last night to feed DS2 and fell asleep Blush

How is everyone?

DS1 is currently destroying an orange and his tshirt and DS2 is having his first nap.

We will be heading out to the shop as we need a few bits and I want some snacks Grin

I know no one is probably coming back to this but I'm just posting as the only adult conversation I had today was with the checkout clerk at Aldi Blush

Both DCs are in bed but DS1 has been challenging today and DS2 didn't really want to be put down much.
It's quite cool outside but I've left the window in my bedroom where the baby is asleep slightly open as I think it helps him sleep a bit better. Plus for some reason it always feels quite relaxing to me when I can smell the fresh air inside and it's getting me a bit nostalgic and missing my home country.

I've got quite a bit of tidying to do but I really don't feel like doing it ...

I feel the same about the fresh air!
Leave the tidying and have a rest! Grin

lonelytigger · 23/04/2018 22:28

I did @Treaclepie19 but now I'm thinking I should probably try and do at least some as we are heading out first thing for pretty much the whole day.

Sometimes I just can't bring myself to do any cleaning related tasks when the DCs are both up and then bedtime is a task and I flop after they're gone and the cleaning still doesn't get done Envy

I'm the same. It's not easy when you're running round after little ones!
Then once they're asleep it's your rest time!

Just do the essentials and then go to bed :)
