To think two oranges after dinner is too much sugar

They are pretty large navel oranges, two of them (whole not juiced) is probably half your daily sugar allowance so probably not a good idea to eat two after a evening dinner?

In all seriousness does orange coffee really work?

Yes. I got it from this guy:

Not the whole peel, just a couple of inches of it.

As a direct result of reading this thread last night, I had a late night snack of two clementines. That brought my total for the day to 4 - which is low, for me at the moment. I think 7 is my record. I know they have sugar in, but I am calorie counting, to lose weight, and I think they are better for me than biscuits or sweets, when I have that sweet craving.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 19/04/2018 10:59

DS2 regularly has 5 strawberries bigger than his hand after dinner (he's 6.5).

MrsMollyMooMoo · 19/04/2018 11:07

This place is bonkers. Seriously. It really annoys me when I reason here about not giving your kids fruit as it contains sugar. It’s crazy and it says to me that the poster has a very unhealthy attitude to food.
I’m hoping this a troll tbh

KeneftYakimoski · 19/04/2018 11:18

It’s crazy and it says to me that the poster has a very unhealthy attitude to food.

And are performance parenting. It's basically like sitting on a train shouting "YES TARQUIN YOU CAN HAVE MORE HUMMUS, ISN"T THAT LITTLE BOY OVER THERE SILLY WITH HIS BAR OF CHOCOLATE" for the benefit of...well, it's not quite clear who.

jnfrrss, would you like to post your impeccable diet so that we can all laugh admire your standards of personal purity?

SunnySkiesSleepsintheMorning · 19/04/2018 11:32

This thread has made me want oranges, both the fruit and Terry’s. I also want mentos but I’m not running up the stairs for them.

FrenchJunebug · 19/04/2018 11:38

are you for real, OP?!

Lilyhatesjaz · 19/04/2018 12:00

If you eat too many raw carrots your skin will turn orange from the carrotine

MorningsEleven · 19/04/2018 12:45

BertrandRussell

I'm aghast that you're trying to get law-abiding citizens into smelling orange and spice.

Mississippilessly · 19/04/2018 13:27

keneft i'm fairly sure she was joking. ..

Mississippilessly · 19/04/2018 14:31

Fuck I didn't realise that was OP. Yeah you went too far OP - the breaking the carrot in half gave you away. Better luck next time.

corcaithecat · 19/04/2018 14:49

2 oranges? I'd be ecstatic if my DS ate even 1 orange. His only fruit and veg every single day is peas, sweet corn and 1 apple. He won't even have a vitamin tablet.

anothernamechanged · 19/04/2018 14:56

I have been told that too much fruit is bad for children's teeth so they recommend giving fruit only twice a day and brushing teeth after so for pudding (not long before teeth brushing) is the ideal time.

That's the dentist's advice. In reality I give my children ice cream for pudding.

toomuchtooold · 19/04/2018 15:01

Once when she was a baby, DD2 ate an entire 500g pack of blueberries. I gave her a wee handful and she just inhaled them so I carried on giving her them. In the end it was more curiosity about how many she could put away. She ate nothing for two days, did a massive purple shit and then ate two chicken legs for her dinner.

It's a wonder I never got reported to SS. The blueberries were non locally sourced ones too. I'm basically going to hell.

ilovesooty · 19/04/2018 15:06

No one actually eats lemons and limes do they? Just think of the damage to teeth.

paxillin · 19/04/2018 15:13

a lemon and a lime in a lunchbox?

Was going to give a whole carrot but that's a bit high in sugar

Can't have peas for dinner now though, as they are very carb and sugar heavy!

Please own up, OP. It's a pisstake on MN bonkers eating.

penguinsandpanda · 19/04/2018 15:13

My DS eats both lemons and limes. When I was pregnant with him I used to eat them as a craving.

Weezol · 19/04/2018 15:16

Toomuch That made me do a massive snorty laugh. I now have a montage of the whole thing running in my head.

Sarkyharky · 19/04/2018 15:22

How many trolls here today?!

expatinscotland · 19/04/2018 15:31

These warped, fucked up orthorexia threads are hilarious, but the strawberries cause bowel cancer wins the prize for batshit.

LittleLionMansMummy · 19/04/2018 15:50

Terrys with popping candy is the best invention ever.

MuddyForestWalks · 19/04/2018 15:52

DH has popped to the supermarket. I have added oranges to his list, this thread has given me a massive orange craving.

When I was pregnant with DD there was a phase when I lived on oranges and chicken.

MuddyForestWalks · 19/04/2018 15:55

expat my SIL is actually like this in real life. It is funny on MN but rather trying at family gatherings. When DD was 2 she ate a piece of white chocolate from a bowl of sweets. SIL nearly passed out. It was bloody Boxing Day and it was one piece of chocolate.

KeneftYakimoski · 19/04/2018 15:57

These warped, fucked up orthorexia threads are hilarious

They always culminate with the claim that the batshit crazy poster has "done research" which turns out to mean "has Googled shit".

noeffingidea · 19/04/2018 16:05

But where is the protein in these 2 oranges? I would have added some protein to them, something like a whole chicken to make them more balanced.
