italiancortado · 17/04/2018 21:40

I don't get it? Why did you take it back?

Jessikita · 17/04/2018 21:41

It’s hilarious 😂😂😂

SleightOfMind · 17/04/2018 21:43

DS1 has saved his Saturday job money for this charming garment.
They have ‘FUCK’ on the right knee and ‘OFF’ on the left.
The words are sort of in pouches, so you only get the full glory if he sits down or bends his knees
He’s not allowed to wear them around elderly family or when out with us and I’ve warned him that he could get into trouble so to be careful.

Am looking forward to whipping out the pictures in a few years and watching him die of shame!

It is not sexist or mysogynistic. It is not agressive. It therefore passes my test of t-shirt slogans I don't actively object to so I would let my 13 yr old ds wear it.

I can't help giggling at all the puzzled comments as to why a teenager would call themselves a shit. As others have said it is about being 'the shit' or the best/the coolest, the man etc. Cringeworthy maybe when viewed as an adult but not offensive at all (well not to me anyway)

Goldmonday · 17/04/2018 21:48

I think it's hilarious. I wouldn't take it back, I would keep it somewhere safe to laugh about in a few years time

ReggaetonLente · 17/04/2018 22:30

I’m really laughing at the idea that it says ‘I am a poo’

😂😂😂😂

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 18/04/2018 08:14

Your mum was so proud, bigmouth?

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 18/04/2018 08:18

Those jeans could get your son some serious, unwanted attention (of the wrong sort), Sleight. He'll need to be careful where he wears them; Auntie Edna clutching her pearls might be the least of his worries.

brokeForYou · 18/04/2018 08:20

Awful t-shirt and I hope my children would have the taste not to buy it but it's awful because it's stupid, not because it's really offensive.

dementedpixie · 18/04/2018 12:47

I had this tshirt in my teens that I wore to school. I didn't even take drugs!

bigmouthstrikesagain · 18/04/2018 13:15

I was not entirely serious there greyhound

But I was on a demo protesting against cosmetic testing on animals - so she was proud of my commitment to activism (this was nearly 30 years ago) if not impressed by my sartorial choices.

Mydoghatesthebath · 18/04/2018 13:17

I couldnt work it out op so it would have passed me by :) xx

DairyisClosed · 18/04/2018 13:19

It is hideous. You have done everyone a favour.

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 18/04/2018 13:21

Oh lord, some of the tshirts DB and I had growing up would make you weep! There were rules about which ones were ok for school/elderly relatives but if we were out on our own she was pretty chilled. I can’t possibly understand why you took it back, completely unnecessary and I can’t wait to see the ones he now brings home to piss you off!

bigmouthstrikesagain · 18/04/2018 13:23

If you can't offend the 'man' when you are a teenager and wear horrible clothes and be a poseur - when can you do it? I am not proud really just look back fondly on my version of rebellious youth.

TrudeauGirl · 18/04/2018 13:27

I have a shirt that says "W⚓"

I must be dense today because I was thinking "Weigh anchor?" "W anchor?" Until I actually realised what it obviously stood for Blush

Grin
SneakyGremlins · 18/04/2018 13:29

I'm wearing it right now!

Tink2007 · 18/04/2018 13:32

Ahh I remember when I had a t-shirt that said “Barbie is a Slut” which I wore when I was 17....look back now and think god why but at the time it was all “Yeaaah rebellion!”

Todayissunny · 18/04/2018 13:36

Sneakygremlins ..... Smile ..

I keep thinking about this and just dont want that pile of poo staring at me across the table when I am eating dinner.

Maybe it has passed my by that saying 'I am the shit' means I a great, but i am a bit detached from young English speaking culture (at least that is my excuse for being out of touch...)... to me 'I am the shit' would still be saying something negative about myself.

PinkHeart5914 · 18/04/2018 13:37

Yes I’d feel ok with him wearing it as his 13 and they all love this poo emoji at the moment don’t they? Plus wearing ridiculous clothes as a teen is something everyone does isn’t it

angryburd · 18/04/2018 13:44

@alonso I was just about to mention that tshirt! And I remember my also had one that said "Manteaser" on it, like the Malteser's logo. We couldn't have been older than 14...

TrudeauGirl · 18/04/2018 13:47

My friend use used to have a shirt with the coca cola logo which said "Cocaine" instead and then the tag line "Its the real thing" aged 14 her mom went mad Grin
