I’ll admit that the answer was definitely “yes” 5 years ago as we did weekly karaoke nights at the top of our voices till 4am. But it didn’t matter then because

You are definitely the unreasonable noisy neighbours. There is NO need for karaoke at 2am, ever! It’s a dickish thing to do.

It wouldn't make one bit of difference whether it was spontaneous or you came round and warned me beforehand - 2am is abso-fucking-lutely unreasonable and I'd be telling you so I'm no uncertain terms!

"Never" is the only acceptable amount of times you should have a loud, obnoxious party until 2am when you KNOW you will be disturbing your neighbours.

It is unreasonable to ever do that OP. What gives you the right to upset people even once or twice a year? It’s not just the noise, it’s wondering when the next time is going to happen. It causes anxiety to live near that crap. Being kept awake and then having to recover from being kept awake because the neighbours decided to be selfish?

Yes, that is totally selfish. I'm not surprised they are not happy. Years ago - back when most neighbours were considerate - people used to tell neighbours if there was going to be a party (not very often) with loud music into the early hours. It's just manners.
Spontaneous karaoke till 2am is outrageous. This is what nightclubs etc are for.
IME it's people like you who complain most loudly when the boot's on the other foot.

Amazingly enough it’s entirely possible to be spontaneous and fun without pissing off everyone in your street.
