To not iron sheets for guests

My mum is coming to stay for a night or two. She has never stayed before as I've always lived close enough that an overnight visit wasn't necessary. Now I'm wondering should I iron the sheets for her.
On one hand I CBA ironing (don't iron ours) . On the other hand it's nice to sleep in ironed sheets and it'll add a nice touch to the new house experience.

What do others do for guests?

My MIL starches sheets. She genuinely doesn’t have anything better to do.

I've had a long succession of house guests recently - felt as if I was running a B&B. I don't normally use the tumble drier much, but it's a godsend when you're changing beds a lot - as long as you take the things straight out and fold. Duvet covers, esp. big ones in pure cotton, are a complete PITA to iron.

The only things I iron for guests are the pillow cases. 10 second job.

I've slept on ironed sheets - doesn't make a blind bit of difference.

I've don't have the time or inclination to iron things like sheets, duvets and PJs. Even for guests.

Not one guest has ever commented, and they all keep coming back to visit us. They get a comfortable bed, access to a nice bathrooms with many amenities in it (plus extra toiletries etc in the spare room), access to our WiFi, friendly company, and plenty of food and alcohol. None seem to want extras such as ironed bedding fortunately.

Likewise, only one friend we've visited irons sheets. But, lovely as she is, she is very very traditional and a bit old fashioned about anything like that.

I very rarely iron sheets but have been known to put one on the bed then run the iron over it just to smooth it out so it feels nice at bedtime.

I always love these threads.
Mumsnetters all come out with their ‘life’s too short’, ‘I never iron’, ‘I don’t posses an iron’, ‘I have a life so I don’t iron’ mantras. Then have a lovely sneer at people who do like things ironed.

Some people prefer not to look creased (and don’t tell me unironed cotton isn’t creased), not everyone tumble dries everything, bedding looks and feels better ironed (if you don’t care about that, fine) and not everyone wears man made fabrics all the time.

If I was the OP’s mum I would appreciate it if my bedding had been ironed. Up to the OP if she thinks it’s worth the effort (15 minutes out of her life)

I always iron bedding!! Especially if my mother was staying! Last time my parents stayed i put towels on the bed with a chocolate on top too (no word of a lie... its like that b&b program "3 in a bed" when my parents are round, my dad even roots through my recycling bin to check ive "ripped up the cardboard properly".

My worst fear is dad turning up unexpectedly when house is a hovel 😂Confused

I am a non ironer except work shirts n odd crinkly item of clothes. Never bedding & we've done house swaps the shock they must have been horrified. Come to think of it I don't remember if their sheets were ironed. I doubt I'd even know or notice long as they were clean! I dont sneer at people who iron sheets (my mil does but has the time to do it n makes her happy!) but there's a person in my family who works full time 5 kids n she could b ironing sheets at 11pm at night n then she's constantly complaining how tired n busy she is. I can't listen to it.
