What milk do you give your children?

Just seen on another thread.

Mine had full fat until a few months ago and I swapped to semi skimmed so I wasn't buying 2 milks. And I've been informed by oldest (6) its semi at school.

Should I still be giving them full fat? They're both 50%-ish height and weight, can be taller and slimmer when in growth spurts.

DD5 gets full fat but she's a skinny wee thing. Me and DH use semi.

Ok designed may not be the best choice of word but it is certainly intended for Baby cows and is nutritionally complete for them. It can be tolerated by humans because of us having developed the ability to digest it but it is certainly not intended for humans. It is intended to grow baby cows into big cows

Intended is just as daft as designed. Milk is pretty good for helping to grow little babies into big humans as well.

No other mammal, except humans, drinks the milk of another mammal. That’s just fact. What we have evolved to do is another matter

So what? No other mammals use computers, or build houses, or talk. Should we not do that either?
We have evolved to drink milk, so we do. If you don't want to, don't. It's as simple as that.

1% for the kids (11, 9 and 5), and skimmed for me.

Full fat here and we are not overweight (gold top on high days and holidays) but then I grew up on the very full fat milk from the Guernsey we hand milked - and the clotted cream my mum made.

9 and nearly 12 year old have semi skimmed milk

Ex dairy farmer's daughter. We drank gallons of unpasturised milk straight from the tank. We were as fit as butcher's dogs. My DF drank milk at every meal and died at 92. No male calves were shot at birth.
There is now an increasing market for rose veal (young males born to dairy cows).

Semi-skimmed. DS2 refused full fat when we cut formula out at 1yo so he went on the semi-skimmed straight away, which did him no harm. My mum always gave us semi-skimmed to drink.

This is proper Guernsey milk thoughWink, when we go to the mainland and drink your "white water" we have to get full fat instead.
