to not understand why SIL does this?

I was visiting family abroad over the weekend. They live in a city that has a couple of possible airports to fly in. I was talking to my brother about my flights in/out and he said something like 'oh, yes, SIL noticed there were no flights to airport X on Saturday'

It is at least the second time she does that, ie to check something about my flights. They are not picking me up from the airport nor dropping me off when I leave, so I do not understand why she does it, and it pisses me off. Makes me feel she is checking up on me.

Can anyone think of another reasonable and possibly nicer, explanation for her actions?

@heateallthebuns
as I said before, she is not checking flight details to plan in advance - they do not pick me up from the airport, I do not go to their house when I arrive and they never know if my flight was actually delayed.

@3out, @nymum
you might be right, it might be just curiosity.
I definitely feel less strongly about it today!

I have written a short dissertation Blush re. the issues with my brother, in case anyone is interested!

Checking flights is normal, most people I know do that when they know someone wants to fly to see them. Sometimes if in different countries one might see a better deal then the person in another country.

That was the case when I moved here from the US, my husband saw a deal online for a flight for £250, that I wasn't being offered on the same site in the states.

@LeighaJ , I appreciate that, we usually check flights for my in-laws, etc, but that is not what she is doing , we never talk about flights/options before I buy my tickets

@IamAporcupine , some of us are just that sad 😂 It’s a good job I don’t live anywhere near any trains, there’d be a high danger of me memorising the timetables, and that would mean that important information (like nursery schedule) would be out the window.

I often check the cost of ferry/eurotunnel if my brother is coming to see me to check it's not exhaustively expensive. That way I can say if they like they can come a day earlier or stay a day later. It does help with planning meals too.

GreenTulips · 13/04/2018 11:08

SIL is NOT checking times tables to save OP money or be helpful or offer advice!!!!!!

SIL is checking OP is telling the truth about her plans

There's a HUGE difference

I can't grasp why people can't understand

Hmm seriously another post about nothing. A perfectly normal thing to do. Some people like looking stuff up, getting bargains, researching things. I know I do. You’re being rather paranoid.

IamAporcupine · 15/04/2018 21:41

thanks GreenTulips that's how I saw it too
but I am also happy to be told I am being paranoid!
