I have the most stupid DH on MN

DH cooked dinner tonight and had some sausages on his plate along with dinner. I commented on how strong they smelled and asked where he got them. He laughed and said “from the bin”.
Last night I was checking the fridge and at the back found a pack of leek sausages dated April 1st...the pack had swelled right up and bubbles were oozing out the side, so I threw them out. These are what he’s just eaten!
Now he burping away and I can’t believe he’s that thick!
AIBU to make him sleep with a bucket tonight Angry

Surely he was pulling your leg op?
did you check the bin?

Slartybartfast · 07/04/2018 08:57

surely blue cheese can't actually go out of date?

gettingalife · 07/04/2018 08:58

Placemarking too. It's truly vile but need to know if they stayed down.....

MyOtherProfile · 07/04/2018 09:01

Sadly it can. We found some that and never made it into the fridge a few months after we bought it and it had sprouted hairs.

ToastyFingers · 07/04/2018 09:05

Weedsnseeds I'm totally fangirl-ing over your descriptions and am only still on this thread in the hope that you post more. Blush

ForalltheSaints · 07/04/2018 09:06

I have read of some stupid things via MN, but if not the most stupid person to be mentioned, at least up there.

PattiStanger · 07/04/2018 09:09

Is he well? I'd be worried about someone who would do something like that, is his mental health OK?

LizzieDarcy1907 · 07/04/2018 09:12

My dad and stepmum used to be horrendous with food - they'd make enough for 2 meals and then leave it overnight on the cooker top or inside the oven. Meat, veg, curries, whole chickens, you name it. Then they'd reheat the following day. They both must have had asbestos lined stomachs as they were never ill from it either. I would refuse to eat there as you never knew when it had been cooked Shock. It's taken years now Dad lives alone to make him put cooked food in the fridge to store it.....

DavetheCat2001 · 07/04/2018 09:13

Is he still alive?

loobylou10 · 07/04/2018 09:14

How is he OP?

Bluntness100 · 07/04/2018 09:18

He should still be fine today. If it hits it will be between tonight and tomorrow night, with the strain of food poisoning you get from pork it's 24-48 hours.

I tell you this thread is a diet enhancer. Just the thought of it makes me feel queasy and puts me off food.

And I agree, I'd struggle to be attracted to someone who eats food put the bin to save a few bob, unless of course there is significant financial issues and they were forced to do so. However even then I'd recommend a food bank. I'd struggle to even look at him never mind fancy him. It's simply disgusting.

I do that all the time. Not the meat or chickens nowadays as I'm veggie, but when I ate meat I'd think nothing of it. Never got sick. Human beings would have died out long ago if our stomachs were that delicate.

magicstar1 · 07/04/2018 09:34

Well it’s been a long night...no, he’s fine. Not a bother on him at all.
I’ve read him weed’s posts, and he agrees that it was stupid and dangerous, and he’ll never do anything like it again.

I would have thought he'd still be fine for another day or so until it kicks in.

StellaHeyStella · 07/04/2018 09:36

I was once offered a beef sandwich by bf's FIL on a Thursday, I declined and then watched on open mouthed while he took the remains of the Sunday joint from the bottom of the cold oven, carved a bit off for himself and then replaced it in said oven.
The oven was one of those where the bottom is the 'big' oven and the top is the 'small' oven/grill so during the week the joint would have been warmed slightly while the grill/small oven was used for cooking and then to cooled etc etc......
Didn't seem to have any ill effects but maybe that's because it was beef, not pork?

Slartybartfast · 07/04/2018 09:36

he is ok.. so far...

MCSpammer · 07/04/2018 09:40

Presumably your bin has a lid? In which case he must have actively been fishing in it. Did he know the sausages were in there or was he just rummaging for the sake of it?

LTB 😁

SilverHairedCat · 07/04/2018 09:40

@Weedsnseeds1 fascinating stuff, thank you for your input! Lots of things I never knew here. Still managed to give myself food poisoning from minced beef. Started about an hour after I ate the freshly cooked chilli....

StellaHeyStella · 07/04/2018 09:41

I've just read Bluntness100 post op and I reckon it's still worth watching this thread for at least another 24hrs Grin

derxa · 07/04/2018 09:42

So many silly prissy comments

CigarsofthePharoahs · 07/04/2018 09:42

This blue cheese very much had gone past it's "best". It had a mouldy forest growing on it.
