To have ran after the delivery bloke in my dressing gown?

So most Friday night's my sister and BIL and my ex H will come round for a takeaway/tipple.

We usually go to the same place each time because it's nice food, quick delivery etc.

BIL or Ex H answers the door whilst we get the plates. It's always same driver in red cavalier.

Can always hear BIL/exHmaking small talk, weather, busy? Etc

So they haven't been for a few weeks so me and DP decide to order. My DP is a woman.

Food arrives and door opens, she says hello, thankyou, is there drinks? And thanks goodnight.

All silence besides that, I thought it must have been my hearing but when she walks in I said "did he reply to you?"
She says 'no. He ignored me completely. Wouldn't even look at me

So I ran out Blush and asked why he felt it acceptable to completely ignore a customer when she was talking to him and to not even say you're welcome when thanked. First he pretended he couldn't hear me then pretended he didn't speak english. I know he does because we've ordered from them for over a year!

He half mumbled 'sorry' (whilst looking through receipts Hmm and wound the window up and drove off.

This was last night. I was going to call the shop but thought nothing would be done.

But AIBU to he annoyed that he would have a full convo with BIL and DH but wouldnt even look at my girlfriend?

gawd, calm down a bit...you weren't there either tbh, only earwigging from the kitchen

and really, he sees your DP and is rude as he KNOWS she gay?? Has she a tattoo on her forehead cos otherwise I can't see how he would know

Seems to me a stranger (to him) answered the door and he wasn't that chatty.
Maybe he fancies your BIL??

OnionKnight · 04/04/2018 18:44

Really? You chased him and now you're trying to justify it by spouting bollocks, unless you know him personally how do you know he is misogynic?

Tainbri · 04/04/2018 18:44

Wow OP!! Shock sounds like you're the one with the issues!! Misandrist to say the least!!

Babdoc · 04/04/2018 18:44

I love the "discontempt" and "to have ran"! I don't think it's the delivery chap who has trouble with english....

RaspberryPi1 · 04/04/2018 18:45

YABU. In your shoes I'd phone to apologise.
Hope you leave him a tip for next time.

Nicknacky · 04/04/2018 18:45

It might not even be the same guy that usually comes. Not that that makes much of a difference.

Purplehammer · 04/04/2018 18:46

There’s an amusing story here somewhere.
Guests are present.
Takeaway arrives.
Due to something unforeseen you are still in your’e dressing gown.
What had happened beforehand.
Won’t breathe a word,promise.

TrollTheRespawnJeremy · 04/04/2018 18:46

You've made a massive thing out of shit all. You got an "impression that he had a problem with women".

Sounds like you have a chip on your shoulder. Enjoy your tea.

onlyonaTuesday · 04/04/2018 18:47

Ffs get a grip!
Maybe he was having a bad day?
Maybe he didn't here your partner?
Or maybe he realised this was the crazy lady house and wanted to be quick 😀

PoorYorick · 04/04/2018 18:47

What?

StealthPolarBear · 04/04/2018 18:48

Is he raj from big bang?

Cheby · 04/04/2018 18:49

Oh come on everyone, as a minimum the customer service was abysmal. Don’t order from then again OP. Vote with your wallet.

Celebelly · 04/04/2018 18:50

Ah, the classic AIBU thread.

'Am I being unreasonable?'
'Yes'
'NO I'M NOT, YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IT WAS LIKE.'

LineyDancer · 04/04/2018 18:50

Yes, it's abysmal customer service.

Avasarala · 04/04/2018 18:50

Discontent = lack of contentment - "I was discontented with my job"

Contempt - to feel something or someone is beneath you - "he treated her with contempt".

If you're going to be indignant about something, making up a word sort of takes away from the message you want to send

unfortunateevents · 04/04/2018 18:53

Are you always this ready to find fault?

ProperLavs · 04/04/2018 18:53

discomptempt very funny

Op you are really over reacting.

MarthaArthur · 04/04/2018 18:54

Sorry you are getting shitty responses op. Its pure sexism. No one said he had to have a conversation with dp but to fucking ignore her completely is out of fucking order. I would make a complaint its not on.

tillytoodles1 · 04/04/2018 18:55

I think you're being a bit OTT.

PoorYorick · 04/04/2018 18:55

Yes, it's abysmal customer service.

Why? It's not a restaurant, it's home delivery. All they have to do is deliver and sod off.

Given how averse MNers seem to be about any sort of human interaction with someone they haven't known for ten years, I'm stunned that it's an issue because the delivery driver doesn't give you his life story.

ProperLavs · 04/04/2018 18:56

It's to have RUN after btw.

pasturesgreen · 04/04/2018 18:58

Are you always such a drama queen, OP? Gosh, must be an exhausting way to live Hmm

CadyHeron · 04/04/2018 18:58

My money's on this one lol Grin
Or maybe he realised this was the crazy lady house and wanted to be quick
